Last weekend I was working at a local bazaar that sells home baking and handcrafted items. It’s where I sell a lot of my finished cards and projects and get to meet the lovely people who purchase them. Although I try to keep a good variety of cards in stock, I wasn’t able to help a lady looking for a simple anniversary card (I only had ones for silver and golden anniversaries). Can you believe we’re almost a third of the way through August already! While it’s still very hot here in Nova Scotia there are subtle signs that autumn is not that far away. That means I need to start working on projects for the various craft fairs I’ll be attending. Oh my goodness it’s too hot to do anything, and it’s forecast to get worse over the next few days. However I’ve used an old trick of shutting all the windows first thing and drawing the curtains. It really does make a difference to how it feels indoors and costs absolutely nothing. When the weather’s like this I can’t even concentrate on crafting. On Wednesday I made a card with a hand-coloured design. It wasn’t complicated by any means but sometimes I have to be in the mood to colour. When that doesn’t happen I’ll turn to patterned Designer Series Paper (DSP) for inspiration. Well inspiration certainly struck as I was looking through scraps of the Cute As A Bug DSP this morning. Looking through my stamps recently I realised that I’ve been neglecting the Fern & Flora Stamp Set. I know that’s hard to believe considering how obsessed I’ve been with this suite.
