BASIC NOTEPAD COVER
This is a basic 4″ x 5-1/2″ notepad purchased from Dollarama covered with a piece from the Let It Snow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I cut the paper 5-1/2″ x 8-3/8″ and scored it on the long side at 4″ and 4-3/8″. Then I sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder and set it aside.
Next I wrapped a 1″ x 3″ piece of the DSP around a mechanical pencil to create a loop and glued the ends together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). With more liquid glue I attached the pencil loop to the outside of the cardboard base of the pad.
With the loop in place I then used more liquid glue to fix the note pad inside the DSP cover.
Today I decided to add a strip to the inside of the cover that could be used to hold single sheets of paper. So I cut another strip of the same DSP 1″ x 6-1/4″, placed it inside the cover and folded the ends over. Then using liquid glue I attached these folded ends to the front of the cover.

Now of course when I closed the notebook I had these two little ends visible on the front. But not for long. Using liquid glue I attached a strip of Shaded Spruce Card to the front, followed by some Sparkle Glimmer Paper.
That just left the sentiment.
BEAUTY AND JOY
For my sentiment I turned to the new Beauty & Joy Stamp Set. Instead of card I decided to stamp it onto Vellum Cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink. The ink usually takes a little longer to dry on vellum so I helped it along with my Heat Tool set on 1 (low). Once the sentiment was dry and smear-proof I punched it out using the larger punch from the new Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack.
I was nearly done, but with the Heat Tool out I couldn’t resist adding a little embossing.
First I wiped the Vellum with an Embossing Buddy to remove and oils and static. Then I simply pressed the top of the ornament shape onto the surface of my VersaMark ink pad. Then I dipped the end into the pot of Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. Once I’d checked for stray specks I melted the remaining powder with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).

Attaching vellum can be a challenge but I have a trick that I revealed in my YouTube video. I placed a Mini Glue Dot under the embossed top of the ornament and another near the bottom of the shape. Then I pressed the sentiment onto the Glimmer Paper.
To finish all I had to do was hide the glue dot at the bottom of the ornament. For that I chose one of the new metal copper-coloured Star Designer Elements. My project was finally complete.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my 2019 Holiday Catalogue projects so far, of course there’ll be lots more to come.
If you live in Canada and don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I’d be happy to send you a paper copy of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. Just contact me to request one.

So that’s all for today. It’s going to be a busy one for for me and I’ll have all the sneak peek product lists updated by the end of the day. In the meantime, here’s the full list of everything I used for today’s project.
PRODUCT LIST
The Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack contains two punches that are not available individually. The punch pack can be purchased by itself or as part of a bundle with the coordinating Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set. If you order both items using the bundle item number you’ll save 10% off the cost of the buying them separately. So although I didn’t use that stamp set today I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you are interested.
A big day indeed! LOVE that particular DSP that you’ve used on your notebook, Tracy. Let the fun begin!
Thank you Geraldine
