It’s time for the A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop featuring the November 2020 kit called Jolly Gingerbread. We’re a bit later than normal due to the US Thanksgiving Day holiday but I hope you’ll think it was worth the wait.
The Jolly Gingerbread kit was designed to make 15 gift card holders with a gingerbread house theme. However there are so many more things you can create with this kit. I’ve already seen lots of card idea so I decided to do something different. In fact both projects are so quick and easy to make I’m almost embarrassed to show them…

GINGERBREAD HOUSE TAG
First up I made a sweet gingerbread house gift tag to showcase some of the stamps in the kit.
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 3″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White Card and scored it at 3″. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next, using the Detailed Trio Punch, I punched an oval hole on the back of the tag near the top and close to the crease.
With the tag base made I was ready to start stamping using the photopolymer stamp set included in the kit. Using Tuxedo Black ink I first stamped ‘with love’ in the bottom right corner on the front of the tag.
Next, using Tuxedo Black ink again, I stamped the house image twice onto scraps of Whisper White Card. In fact I only really needed one full house and one additional porch piece.

To colour the images I decided to use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I started with light and dark Daffodil Delight on the windows. Then for the door I used light and dark Mint Macaron. This was followed by light and dark Shaded Spruce for some of the decorations on the house. Finally I completed the roof, heart, porch edges and windowsills with light and dark Real Red.
With the colouring complete I used my Paper Snips to cut around the whole house and the extra porch. Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the porch to the house, before mounting the house on the tag.
Now I just needed something to tie the tag. I could have used basic Linen Thread but instead I found some Cherry Cobbler Linen Thread left over from the October kit. After tying the thread through the hole my first project was complete.
ONE LESS STEP
If you thought my gift tag was easy, this next project will surprise you.
Basically I took one of the giftcard holder houses and used Tear & Tape to seal it just down the long edge.
Next I stamped one of the white house fronts with the two decorative stamps using Blushing Bride ink. Then I attached the white piece to the front of the house base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
With that done I took one of the labels from the kit and wrote a name on it. Then with a few more Stampin’ Dimensionals I added that to the front of the house.

So essentially all I’d done was make the giftcard holder as per the kit instructions, but left the bottom open.
Finally I slid the house over some cutlery/silverware and I had a cute gingerbread house place name.
So there you have it, my two very simple projects using the Jolly Gingerbread kit. I hope you like them.

PRODUCT LIST
I actually used very little from my stash for these two quick projects, but what I did use are listed below. I’ve also included the Blushing Bride ink pad and adhesives, although a Blushing Bride ink spot and adhesives were included in the kit.
Such a cute tag and great idea for the table settings too!
Thank you Monika
