And just like that it’s the last Thursday of the month and time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month we’ve got alternate project ideas for the amazing March kit “No Matter The Weather”. For my projects I decided to set aside the second free stamp set and concentrate on the smaller set.
With everything that’s happening in the world with COVID19 I was immediately struck by the sentiments in this kit. These are so apt right now and I really wanted to focus on two of them for my alternate projects. First up, a very quick decoration idea for a Mini Pizza Box.

WEATHER PROJECT TAKE ONE
I began my first weather themed project with a card base from the kit; the one with grass along the bottom. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut the card along the scored line. Next I cut the front of the card in two by measuring 3-1/8″ down from the top. Then I set the grassy section aside and cut the sky section again to make it 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″.
Using Basic Gray ink I stamped the “No matter the weather we’re in this together” sentiment onto the sky piece. Then with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to a 3-1/4″ square layer of Basic Gray Card.
To complete the panel I choose the die-cut boots from the kit and added it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then all that was left was to attach the completed piece to the lid of a Mini Pizza Box.
Mini Pizza Boxes are a great way to gift small items and every one can be decorated differently. I’ll decide what to put into this one later…
BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD
With the box done it was time to work on project number two.

This time I started with a 3″ x 3″ piece of Seaside Spray Card that I wiped with an Embossing Buddy. Then using VersaMark ink I stamped the two cloud images from the kit at the top. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. Finally, once I’d removed some stray specks, I melted the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
With the embossing complete I mounted the background onto a 3-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ piece of Basic Gray Card using liquid glue.
Next I turned to the piece of card front left over from my first project. This time I took my Paper Snips and cut the grass from the bottom. I didn’t worry too much about every individual blade of grass, but just followed the general line. Then I trimmed off the left edge so that it was 3″ across and fixed it to the bottom of my embossed panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With the clouds and grass now in place I could see how much space was left for the sentiment. Then using Basic Gray ink I stamped “Wishing you brighter days ahead” on the left side.
FINISHING TOUCHES
To complete the scene I used liquid glue to add the cute bunny die-cut from the kit, tucking it in behind the grass.
Finishing off the project was really quick. I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base. Then I fixed the assembled panel to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Turning back to the cloud images from the kit I inked them up with Seaside Spray ink. Then after ‘stamping-off’ onto scrap paper I stamped the images at the top of a layer of Whisper White Card, before adding it to the inside of the card base with liquid glue.
With a few more ‘stamped-off’ clouds on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope, I was done.
Sweet and simple, and both projects were created using one card base from the kit. That leaves me lots more card bases for other alternate No Matter The Weather projects.
APRIL PAPER PUMPKIN KIT
The April Paper Pumpkin kit will be another card kit, this time with 8 full-size 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ cards. The title of this kit is My Wonderful Family and while it will include sentiments for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, it promises to be so much more. Use it to show appreciation and love for those who you consider family, especially at this time when social connections are more important than ever. Check out this short video and watch for the sneak peeks!
To get the April kit simply subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by April 10th.
