Do you ever find that sometimes when you look at a stamp set you just don’t see all the images and sentiments. A member of my team had exactly this problem with the Amazing Life Stamp Set. I created a Good Luck card a while back and she had no idea she already owned the image. That’s why, for this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge, I decided that my Design Team contribution would feature stamps that might otherwise be overlooked. So here’s a colourful bookmark with a veritable sea of flowers.

BASIC START
As always I began my bookmark by preparing the base. Using a Stampin’ Trimmer I cut a piece of Thick Whisper White Card 2″ x 5-1/2″. Then I shaped the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
Next I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the ‘I believe in you’ sentiment from the Amazing Life Stamp Set.
With the sentiment in place I filled in the rest of the space on the bookmark with the small flower image.
A SEA OF FLOWERS
I decided to keep things fairly simple with my Stampin’ Blends, colouring the flowers from the outside in. I started each petal with a line of dark Flirty Flamingo around the outside. Then I added a line of light Flirty Flamingo.
Each leaf began with a random area of dark Granny Apple Green at the bottom and up the leaf vein. Then I went over the top with the light Granny Apple Green.
To create the sea of flowers I coloured around each one with the dark Balmy Blue. Then finally I filled in all the space between the flowers with the light balmy blue.

With all the colouring complete all that was left was the ribbon at the top.
I took a length of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon and pulled out a thread from one edge. Then I threaded the ribbon through the slot at the top of the bookmark. Finally I coloured a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine with the brush tip of the light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Then once I tied the twine in a bow around the ribbon I was done.
Like yesterday’s project I decided to break the Stampin’ Blends rules. There really was no attempt to blend the colours and I really like the result. What do you think?

WWYS206 – AMAZING LIFE

This week’s What Will You Stamp? challenge is WWYS206 Amazing Life. You’ll find more inspirational ideas for this stamp set over on our blog today.
If you have this stamp set, we’d love for you to join the challenge this week.
To take part simply create a new project (it doesn’t have to be a card) using at least one image from Amazing Life. Then post it on your blog or other social media and upload it to our challenge gallery for everyone to see. At the end of the challenge we’ll randomly choose one person to be our winner. They’ll get bragging rights, a winner’s badge for their social media, and an invitation to be our Guest Designer two weeks later. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
PAPER PUMPKIN TURNS SIX

In March Stampin’ Up! ‘s subscription papercrafting kits, Paper Pumpkin, turns six. To celebrate they have put together a kit to make 8 full-size, mailable cards with a birthday theme and an element that is sure to ‘pop’. What’s more, they are also including a second large stamp set that will coordinate with the kit, but is also perfect for lots of other projects too.
This special kit is bound to be popular, so although in theory you have until Match 10th to subscribe, I suspect that it will sell out long before then. So make sure you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin today so you don’t miss out.
If you’re unsure, subscribe anyway, and if you don’t like the kit when it arrives just let me know. After all, Stampin’ Up! guarantees you’ll be satisfied with their Paper Pumpkin kits, this month, and every month.
