A few days ago I created a cute baby card to showcase two new Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders from Stampin’ Up! called Tufted and Subtle. I mentioned that there were coordinating dies available for the Sweet Baby Stamp Set and for today’s Watch on Wednesday project I decided to use the stamps and dies bundle to create a gift tag and bonus card.
As promised in the video, here’s the details:
To create the It’s a Girl! gift tag I used 1/4″ sheet of Very Vanilla Card and a 3″ x 3″ piece from the Tropical Escape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack. The baby image was stamped in Blushing Bride ink and painted using an Aqua Painter in Powder Pink, So Saffron and Berry Burst inks. The sentiment was stamped using Blushing Bride ink.
The baby and swaddling cloth were cut using dies from the Bouncing Baby Framelits, while the sentiment and main background were cut using the #1 and #4 (smallest and largest) oval dies from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
APOLOGY – In the video I punch a hole in the tag using a 1/16″ circle handheld punch which is no longer available from Stampin’ Up! (I’m not even sure what it was doing on my desk). It would actually have been more sensible to use the 1/8″ Circle Handheld Punch which is available, especially as it would have made threading the 6″ of Bakers Twine much easier! After filming I also swapped the Whisper White Baker’s Twine for Very Vanilla Solid Baker’s Twine and it looks so much nicer.
For the It’s a Boy! card I created the ‘tag’ in the same way (minus the hole) with blue patterned paper from the Tranquil Textures 12″ x12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack. The baby image was stamped using Blushing Bride ink and painted using an Aqua Painter in Powder Pink, Sahara Sand and Mint Macaron inks. The sentiment was stamped using Balmy Blue ink.
Once completed, the ‘tag’ was attached to a card base created from a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card, scored on the long side at 4-1/4″. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder, then Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) was used to attach another piece of Tranquil Textures DSP (3-3/4″ x 5″) to the front followed by the completed ‘tag’.
On the inside of the card I added a layer of Very Vanilla Card with the little baby bottle image stamped in the centre near the top using Balmy Blue ink. The same bottle image was stamped in the centre of the flap on a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
You’ll find the other card I created using the Sweet Baby Stamp Set in my blog post Sweet baby card.
BUNDLE BONUS
The appropriately named Sweet Baby Stamp Set and coordinating Bouncing Baby Framelits Dies can be purchased separately but I bought them in a bundle using the special item number and in doing so saved 10% off the cost. In my product list below you’ll see that I’ve included links to the bundles as well as the individual items so you can look at all the options in more detail if you are interested in any of these products.
