This summer our eldest granddaughter Alyssa is coming to stay for a few weeks and we’re all very excited about her visit. There’s the obligatory shopping, of course, which prompted me to design this personalised gift card holder using the Alphabest Stamp Set. We’re also making plans for other things to do while she’s here. We have some tours and excursions booked already that she knows about, but I’m hoping to slip some surprises in there too. So the Tim Horton’s gift card will likely be replaced with something more exciting.

CUSTOM GIFT CARD HOLDER
I began this project with the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies (now part of the Online Exclusives range from Stampin’ Up!). I cut a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Moody Mauve Card to fit the main die in the set and ran it through my Cut & Emboss Machine. Then I folded the die-cut piece along the ‘scored’ lines imprinted by the die, and sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder.
Before assembling the gift card holder I wanted to add a custom background design so I flattened the card out again. Then from the Alphabest Stamp Set I chose the ampersand (and) symbol. Using VersaMark ink I stamped the symbol all over the front (smaller) section of the die-cut card. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with clear powder from the Basic Embossing Powders pack. After tapping off the excess powder, I removed a few stray spacks, before melting the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Once the embossing had cooled I assembled the gift card holder using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) by tucking in the tabs and folding the back section over the top. With that done it was time to get personal.
ALPHABEST PERSONALISATION
Going back to the Alphabest Stamp Set I found the letters I needed to create my granddaughter’s name. Then I stamped them onto some Very Vanilla Card using Moody Mauve ink. Lining them up was really simple as I could just look through the clear photopolymer stamp material. The letters (and other stamps in the set) are designed to fit the Best Label Punch but today I decided to do something different. So I simply cut around the name using Paper Snips.

Now I wanted to add some special layers for this very special person. So I began by cutting a 1-1/2″ x 2-3/8″ piece of a Champagne coloured sheet from the More Dazzle 6″ x 6″ Specialty Paper pack. Then I mounted the sparkly piece onto a 1-3/4″ x 2-3/8″ layer of Very Vanilla Card with liquid glue.
Next I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the fussy-cut name onto the More Dazzle layer. After that I cut some Moody Mauve twine from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim pack. Then I tied a simple bow and used liquid glue to attach it just below the name.
Finally I fixed the assembled layers to the front of the gift card holder with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and I was done.
My special project really didn’t take long to complete. I hope Alyssa loves it as much as I do.
