Being a papercrafter can be a little confusing at times. While everyone else is enjoying summer weather we are already thinking of autumn and even Christmas. Earlier this week Stampin’ Up! revealed their 2019 Holiday Catalogue to demonstrators and I’m eagerly awaiting my new goodies. In the meantime there’s always lots in the Annual Catalogue to play with.
For today’s Simple Sunday project I wanted to explore the Very Versailles Stamp Set some more. I love the collection of images and the font used for the sentiments is absolutely gorgeous.

WARM COLOURS
First I decided on my colours, warm Very Vanilla with spicy Cajun Craze.
I stamped the “Always thinking of you” sentiment onto a strip of Very Vanilla Card with Cajun Craze ink. Then I attached it to a strip of Cajun Craze Card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I took the Sahara Sand paper from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. The pattern is quite subtle and perfect for stamping on. So using Cajun Craze ink I stamped the leafy image from Very Versailles onto the DSP and then mounted that onto Cajun Craze Card with liquid glue.
While I had the stamp in my hand I then stamped a portion of it in the top left corner of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then I did the same thing on a layer of Very Vanilla Card.
Now I was ready to assemble my project.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals I attached the stamped DSP layer to the front of a Thick Very Vanilla Card base. Then the layered sentiment was fixed on top.
That just left the stamped Very Vanilla piece which was added to the inside of the card base with liquid glue. Job done.
When I design thinking of you cards I tend to keep them calm and unfussy, and this one is a perfect example of that. There is pattern and colour but its understated and none of it detracts from the message.
