To say it’s been an interesting morning here in my little corner of Nova Scotia would be a huge understatement. This morning we awoke to find that there was an “active shooter” incident in progress just about 3kms up the road! Everyone has been told to stay inside, lock their doors and report anyone on their property. They are still searching for the suspect who is considered armed and dangerous. And there I was thinking that living in the country would be quiet and uneventful. I have no excuse for my simple Sunday project being late, other than I’ve been a touch distracted. I hope you’ll forgive me.

COUNTRY CLUB PAPER
I decided this morning that I needed to make a masculine gift tag. So I pulled out the Country Club Designer Series Paper (DSP) for some inspiration. I came across some scraps of this very striking diamond design and it all took shape from there.
First I cut a 3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ piece of the DSP and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix it to a 2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Smoky Slate Card. Then using the Detailed Trio Punch I punched an oval hole at the top.
Then I used Paper Snips to cut some diamond-shaped sections from the remaining scraps of DSP. After cutting three sections each with four diamonds, I attached them to the tag base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The “Happy birthday” sentiment from the Here’s A Card Stamp Set came next. First I stamped it onto Whisper White Card before mounting it onto Smoky Slate Card with liquid glue. Then I added that to the gift tag with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
At this point I thought the sentiment looked rather boring, so I cut two individual diamonds and added them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete the tag I threaded some Poppy Parade twine from the Country Club Twine Combo Pack through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
