Is anyone else ready for a change of seasons? This morning we awoke to another fresh blanket of snow, and once again the colour disappeared from my world. Don’t get me wrong, fresh snow is very pretty especially when the sun’s out. Sadly though the sun’s gone awol. So today’s project reflects the view from my window, grey, with an expanse of white and the odd black accent.

GREY ARGYLE
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Basic Black Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base.
Next I cut some grey argyle pattern from the Country Club 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to the front of the card for my background.
Then it was time to pull out the Clubhouse Stamp Set and Tuxedo Black ink pad.
First I stamped the flag in the bottom right corner on a layer of Whisper White Card. Then with liquid glue I fixed it inside the card base. Next I stamped the flag in the bottom right corner on the front of Whisper White Medium Envelope.
Finally I stamped the golfer onto some Whisper White Card. Then mounted the piece onto some Basic Black Card before adding it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

TWO SENTIMENTS
For the main “happy birthday” sentiment I went back to the Clubhouse Stamp Set. This time I wiped a strip of Basic Black Card with an Embossing Buddy to remove any oils and static. Then I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink and sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Next I tapped off the excess powder and removed a few stray specks, before melting the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
With the embossing complete I added the sentiment to the front of the card, making sure to stack two Dimensionals under the end attached to the background layer.
It was only at this point that I remembered that I wanted to include a second sentiment from the Clubhouse Stamp Set. Throwing caution to the wind I stamped it on the Whisper White layer inside the card using Tuxedo Black ink. Thankfully the sentiment ended up straight and clean, and finally my project was finished.
The irony of “I hope the next year is full of green fairways, blue skies, and short putts” wasn’t lost on me. But right now I’d settle for anything more colourful than grey!

BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Clubhouse Stamp Set in a bundle with the coordinating Gold Club Dies (not used today). This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle below in case you want to explore that option.
