Do you ever find yourself dragging out a childhood memory and thinking about those really bad puns and jokes? Well I have to say that’s exactly what I found myself doing with the Sale-A-Bration stamp set So Hoppy Together. So when I realised that the What Will You Stamp? challenge #WWYS210 used this set, I couldn’t resist any longer.
So here’s what happened, I saw the frog with the glasses and thought that he looked very studious. Then that made me think of reading, and of course bookmarks. Finally that lead me to the old frog joke playing on the sound they make. So I went searching through my current stamp sets and put it all together.

INITIAL IMAGES
I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Very Vanilla Card and punched it at the top using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. In one go this shaped the top and added the ribbon slot.
Then I found the host stamp set Hand Delivered. In the set is a large pile of books with some fingers peeking out right at the bottom. I inked up the image using Tuxedo Black ink and removed the ink from the fingers using a Blender Pen. Then I stamped the image right at the bottom of the bookmark.
Next using Garden Green ink I stamped the frog in spectacles beside the books.
Finally I created my own ‘Read it” sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink and individual letters from the Make A Difference Stamp Set.
QUICK COLOURS
With all the basic parts in place I then reached for my collection of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
I coloured the frog using the light and dark Old Olive and the light Daffodil Delight markers. Underneath the frog I added a little ‘ground’ in Smoky Slate.

The apple on top of the books started with light Daffodil Delight and was finished with light and dark Granny Apple Green (what else!).
Finally I set to work on the pile of books using light and dark Stampin’ Blends in Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather, plus the light Petal Pink.
With all the colouring completed I then used a .05 Journaling Pen to add a black line along the bottom edge of the lowest book.
Finally I threaded some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon through the slot at the top of the bookmark. I secured it in place with a couple of Mini Glue Dots and my project was finished.

I created this project for the What Will You Stamp? Design Team gallery for #WWYS210 – So Hoppy Together . You’ll find more projects from the Design Team over on our blog.
If you have this free Sale-A-Bration stamp set we’d love to see your ideas. Simply design a new project using at least one image from the set and upload it to our challenge gallery.
At the end of the challenge we’ll randomly select one person to be our weekly winner. They’ll get bragging rights with a winner’s logo to post on their social media. They’ll also receive an invitation to be our Guest Designer two weeks later. I do hope you’ll play along.

OK so that frog joke…
A frog went into a bookstore and asked the assistant if she could recommend some good books to take on holiday. The assistant went over to a big display and selected three novels. She brought them back over to the counter, and as he looked at the titles the frog replied “read it, read it, read it”.
