Over that past few weeks I’ve been actively thinking about where I find the inspiration for my projects. However today was one of those days when inspiration came looking for me. I wanted to make something more gender-neutral and with Designer Series Paper (DSP) I hadn’t used in a while. Nothing inspired me and I was down to the Beautiful Gallery pack. So I pulled out three sheets each with a simple abstract effect trying to narrow it down. But they looked so good together I ended up using them all!

After deciding to use all three papers I cut a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. I chose Basic Gray ink and stamped “Here’s to a new chapter” from the Sending Salutations Stamp Set in the bottom left corner.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the blue sheet at an angle from just above the sentiment down towards the bottom right-hand corner. Then I glued the green piece on top about 1/2″ from the bottom of the blue layer. Finally I added the grey piece 1/2″ above that.

Next I trimmed off the excess paper by flipping everything over and using the edge of the Very Vanilla layer as a guide. With that done I marked the centre of the right-hand short side 1/4″ in from the edge. Using the 1/8″ circle punch I added a hole at the mark, threaded two pieces of Gray Granite twine through the hole and then tied them together in a simple knot. In mere minutes my project was done.

Having finished the bookmark, I’ve now decided that I like those three papers together so much I simply have to make a card with them. Watch this space.
