After taking a week off, the What Will You Stamp? Challenge is back with a new challenge today. This week we’ve gone back to the Annual Catalogue for WWYS202 – Beautiful Promenade. I’ve had this set for quite a while and to be honest haven’t used it nearly enough. So while I check out the other ideas over on the What Will You Stamp? blog, here’s my contribution to the Design Team gallery.

SHADES OF GREEN
I began my project with a search for some pretty but calming paper for the background. As luck would have it sitting on my desk was unopened Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. I really didn’t want butterflies but opened the pack anyway, just in case something sparked my imagination. There in the pack was this lovely pale green foliage design and not a butterfly in sight! Perfect.
The colours listed on the back of the DSP pack identified Lemon Lime Twist as the green used.
Now I had my DSP I needed a nice contrasting colour, and for that I chose Tranquil Tide. I started by using my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score the card, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I fixed the DSP to the front of the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Looking through my card scraps I found some 1″ x 3″ strips of Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide Card. They weren’t long enough to fit across the whole of the DSP layer so that was my next design decision.
I began by laying Tranquil Tide piece on the left side of the DSP. Next I lay the Lemon Lime Twist piece up against the right side of the DSP. slightly lower and overlapping the Tranquil Tide piece. Then all I had to do was use a little liquid glue to fix the pieces together where they overlapped. Now I could actually attach the strips to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SENTIMENT LAYERS
The sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set came next. I used Tranquil Tide ink to stamp it onto a scrap of Whisper White Card. Then I punched it out using a 1-1/2″ Circle Punch.
Instead of layering the sentiment onto another circle I chose the Pretty Label Punch. The centre section of the punch is a fraction bigger than 1-1/2″ and punched from Vellum Cardstock would be perfect.
Using Tear & Tape Adhesive I fixed the sentiment to the vellum piece. Then I added a scrap of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon to the back before attaching it to the card front.
Next I took a layer of Whisper White Card and using Tranquil Tide ink stamped another sentiment from Beautiful Promenade just above the centre. Then I cut a 3/4″ strip of the DSP and attached it to the bottom edge of the layer with liquid glue. Finally I fixed the completed layer inside the card base.

Just one more part of my project was left. Going back to the DSP I used liquid glue to attach a piece to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Once I’d trimmed the DSP following the edge of the flap with Paper Snips I was done.
I’m really pleased with how this project turned out. It’s simple and calming, but not boring. What do you think?
WWYS202 BEAUTIFUL PROMENADE

I created my project as part of the Design Team for the What Will You Stamp? Challenge WWYS202 – Beautiful Promenade. You’ll find project ideas from other members of the team over on the What Will You Stamp? Challenge blog.
If you have this set we’d love you to join our challenge this week. Simply create a new project using at least one stamp from the set and upload it to our challenge gallery.
At the end of the challenge one person will be randomly selected to be our winner. They’ll get bragging rights of course, plus a winner’s badge to display on their social media. In addition we’ll invite them to be our Guest Designer two weeks later. I can’t wait to see the entries and hope yours will be one of them
2017/2019 INCOLOR PRODUCTS
Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide are two of the 2017/2019 InColors that will be retiring in a few short months. Also retiring soon is Berry Burst, Fresh Fig and Powder Pink. If you want any of the 2017/2019 In Colors now’s the time to start planning your order so you can get them before they sell out. Once the Retiring List is published in early April some items could be gone very quickly.
You may think that perhaps it’s a bit early to be worrying about this, but there’s a reason I’m mentioning it now. Until the end of March you can get free Sale-A-Bration items (like the Botanical Butterfly DSP) just for placing a qualifying order. So if you know you definitely want or need something, why not plan to order it before the end of March so you can get free stuff as well. It’s a tactic I’ve used for a number of years, stocking up on basic supplies like Whisper White and Very Vanilla card and envelopes to great effect. More product with no extra outlay, who couldn’t benefit from that.
So that’s it from me for today. It’s currently minus 15C so I’m planning to spend the day all cozy and warm in my craft studio. Is there a project you’d like me to make? Let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
Here’s some of my earlier blog posts with projects I’ve made using the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set:

Thanks so much for the gentle kick-start this morning, Tracy! I need to come up with a card for a friend this morning and get it into her hands NOW … this is the perfect stamp set!
