One of the things that is guaranteed with the end of any Stampin’ Up! catalogue is the retirement of all the Host Stamp Sets. These sets can be found towards the back of each catalogue and are available at below retail value. The catch is that they can only be ‘bought’ using Stampin’ Rewards. Stampin’ Rewards are ‘dollars’ earned by hosting a party or placing an order of at least $200 CAD. Today’s quick fridge magnet project uses the Believe You Can (host) Stamp Set.
I began by cutting the base for my fridge magnet from a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I wasn’t planning to watercolor, but I wanted the interest provided by the textured surface.
Using my die-cutting machine I cut the Watercolor Paper using the C3 die from the Stitched Rectangles (counting from the smallest). Then I used the C4 Stitched Rectangle die to cut a piece of Gray Granite Card.
Next I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the two die-cut layers together. Then I finished the base with a piece of self-adhesive magnetic sheet that I’d bought at Dollarama some time ago.
BELIEVE YOU CAN
With the base cut my next task was to stamp the “believe you can” image. using Tuxedo Black ink.
First I stamped the full image onto the Watercolor Paper. Then I stamped parts of the image onto scraps of coloured card. For the sun I chose Daffodil Delight while the “you can” banner went onto Mint Macaron. The path was stamped onto Gray Granite Card, and I finished with the bushes on Old Olive.
Then all I had to do was use Paper Snips to cut out the various pieces of the image. Once that was done I fixed them all onto the magnet base using liquid.
Quick and easy, my kind of mid-week (almost) project.

I understand that not everyone is able to place a large order or host a workshop, so that’s why I set up my Host Code scheme. Every customer who places an order under $200 before shipping and taxes AND adds my current host code to their order is entered into a draw to win a free gift. You’ll find the code towards the top of the page in the column on the right.
The gift I am offering for this month is the Host stamp set Make A Splash.
