When I started my sneak peeks for the January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue my first project featured the Beside Me Stamp Set. Well as that was last year I decided it was time to pull out the set again. The main reason I bought the Beside Me Stamp Set was for the three line-art masculine figures. After Stampin’ Up! released sets with female figures several years ago I’d pointed out via their ‘suggestion box’ that we need male figures too. Today I couldn’t resist using another of those images.

TOTALLY BESIDE ME
I began with a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card and a Tuxedo Black ink pad. From the Beside Me Stamp Set I chose the image of the man and child looking at something. After stamping the image I coloured it using dry pencils from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
For the man’s clothing I used Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy, with Cajun Craze for his hair. Then on the child I used Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry. For their skin I used a very light touch of Flirty Flamingo. Finally I used Crushed Curry on the ground and Balmy Blue for the sky
And then I decided to use the image on the cover of a pocket photo album I’d bought at the Dollar Store a while back. So I pulled out the boring card covers in the album and cut some Night of Navy Card to relace them.
As my background I chose a piece from the Delicate Desert 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. The colours were very similar to the ground and sky on my stamped and coloured panel so that was perfect. I cut the DSP 1/8″ smaller than my Night of Navy layers and mounted the DSP on one using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I cut some Night Of Navy Card 1/8″ larger than my stamped panel and glued these two pieces together before adding them to the layered background.

Now all I needed were the sentiments and for that I went back to the Beside Me Stamp Sets. I wanted them to blend into the background and so I stamped them onto scraps of the same Delicate Desert DSP. After roughly cutting around the sentiments I glued them onto scraps of Very Vanilla Card. Then I cut them out using dies from the Stiched Rectangles set. Finally I glued the sentiments onto my prepared layers and slid the new covers inside the album.
Although it’s still a while away, I can definitely see this album filled with memories and gifted for Father’s Day. What do you think?
