After some shipping delays caused by a lack of trucks and truckers in Utah, Stampin’ Up! finally received the remaining shipment of March Paper Pumpkin Kits. This was an incredibly frustrating situation for everyone who was still waiting for their box. It didn’t help that the Beyond the Horizon Kit was eagerly anticipated as it coordinates with the New Horizons suite in the mini catalogue. Of course knowing there was a ‘bonus’ stamp set included didn’t hurt either. So now here’s my first alternate project using pieces from the kit.

BEYOND THE HORIZON KIT
This box was so easy to put together and I started by simply folding the retiring Mini Paper Pumpkin Box along the fold lines and tucking in the flaps.
Then from the Beyond The Horizon kit I took one of the yellow envelopes and cut it open. This revealed the gender neutral design on the inside. After cutting the envelope along the creases I cut two pieces from the largest section. One piece was cut at 3-1/4″ x 5″ and the second was a smaller strip, 5/8″ x 5″.
Going back to the Beyond the Horizon kit I now needed the stamp set, and specifically the “congratulations” sentiment. This would fit perfectly on the narrow strip of paper but first I had to flip it over. Then using the retiring Misty Moonlight ink I stamped the sentiment onto the right-hand end of the yellow side.
For my mat layers I chose the retiring Misty Moonlight Card. Once again I cut two pieces, this time at 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and 7/8″ x 5″. Then all I had to do was mount the envelope pieces on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next, using more liquid glue I added the large piece to the top of my box. After that I attached the layered sentiment about 1/2″ from the bottom of the background panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I added a scattering of the iridescent jewels from the Beyond The Horizon kit and I was done. All I have to do now is add my gift and pass it on.
I have to say that I loved the Beyond the Horizon Paper Pumpkin kit. Of course that’s not really a surprise as you know I’m addicted to the New Horizons suite. Still, this kit gave me even more options and ideas to keep on creating. So I’ll definitely be ordering the Beyond The Horizon Refill Kit to get more of the consumable supplies. What about you?
