And just like that Monday rolls around and it’s time to do some less fun things. Still I was able to spend some quality time in my craft room and completed a few organisational tasks. Of course it’s impossible to go in there without making something and yesterday was no exception. So I opened up a new stamp set called Bird’s Eye View and decided to have a play. I have a feeling the two pairs of glasses will see a lot of use with this set and with others.

BIRD’S EYES
I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. At one end I added a hole using the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch.
Then from the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set I took the stack of books and one of the side view owls. Using Copper Clay ink I stamped the books first towards the bottom of the card strip. Then I stamped the owl so he was standing on the top book.
Next I coloured in the images using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For the books I used light Cherry Cobbler, with the darker one along the edges of the book spines. Then I coloured the owl using light and dark Pecan Pie. To finish I scribbbled a few horizontal lines below the books with the light Pecan Pie marker.
Going back to the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set I chose the angular glasses and stamped then onto the owl’s face using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with black powder from the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powder pack. After tapping off the excess, I removed a few stray specks, before melting the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Finally I cut two 6″ pieces of black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials pack. I folded the pieces in half and poked the loops through the slot at the top of the card strip. Then I threaded the cut ends through the loops and pulled gently to secure them in place. With that my Bird’s Eye View bookmark was complete.
