I'm having one of those days and it's only just past 8am. I was trying to decide what to make and had in mind a feminine gift tag. The problem was that I've been a little fixated on the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set just recently. As well as making a variety of projects for my blog I've also been working on an article for Inspiration Canada. This is a monthly newsletter that's sent out to every Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and I've been part of the writing team for almost 5 years. Anyway, in the ... VIEW POST
Good Luck, Bad Luck
I thought I'd have a simple start to my day. I pulled out the Amazing Life Stamp Set and settled on the good luck sentiment. I'd use a limited colour palette and a little Designer Series Paper and that would be it. No stress. Well that's what I planned anyway... GOOD LUCK It all started fine. I used Call Me Clover ink to stamp the 'good luck' sentiment onto some Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then set it aside. Next I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the clover image onto some Call Me ... Incredible Like You
I have lots of congratulations stamps and others for various special occasions, but sometimes they're not quite what I want. Sometimes I want to acknowledge an achievement that doesn't fit into a defined category. That's why I was delighted to get the Incredible Like You Stamp Set. This stamp set is designed to coordinate with the Incredible Like You Project Kit on page 21 of the Occasions Catalogue. It has 15 photopolymer (see-through) stamps including 4 fairly large sentiments. For ... VIEW POST
Inked Edges For Contrast
Sometimes I like to keep things simple and forgo all the mats and layers. That's good in theory, but sometimes I find that everything kind of disappears into the background. That's exactly what happened with my sentiment this morning until I decided to add inked edges for contrast. TIN TILE BACKGROUND This project all started when I thought it was time to bring out the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I dampened a layer of Very Vanilla Card with clean water ... VIEW POST
Masculine Gift Tag Or Card In Progress?
Masculine projects are often considered to be challenging, so I force myself to make something at least once a week. I've certainly found that it has made designing them easier for me. Of course it doesn't hurt to have great masculine appropriate products either. The new Classic Garage Suite from Stampin' Up! is amazing and I love playing with it. Today I thought I'd use the suite to make a masculine gift tag. Of course after I'd finished it I thought how great the tag would look on the ... VIEW POST
Early Morning Moments
Do you make New Year's resolutions? I used to, but like most people I never stuck to them for long. Instead, two years ago I started a 'bullet journal'. In it I keep all my 'to do' lists, reminders and generally anything I want to remember. It's been a great help especially for those moments when an idea strikes me while I'm in the middle of something else. Now I have somewhere to write it and most importantly find it again. No more wondering what happened to that old envelope, or Post-It® ... VIEW POST
Hello Cupcake
I'm still working my way through new products from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Today I picked up the free Hello Cupcake Stamp Set and paired it with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. I began with a piece of Very Vanilla Card and using Rich Razzleberry ink stamped the Sweet Wishes sentiment. Then on some more Very Vanilla Card I stamped the cupcake base with Rich Razzleberry ink, after first stamping off onto scrap paper. The next image ... VIEW POST
Well Written, Well Said
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with word dies. I love the idea of them but haven't bought many. Often they seemed to be missing the centre of the letters and loops, making them look unfinished. So I can't can't tell you how excited I was when I saw the new Well Written Framelits Dies. This 24 piece set includes 14 words in a script font, and they are readable! The words are: baby, birthday, bride, friend, groom, happy, hooray, love, miss, sympathy, thanks, welcome, wishes and you. ... VIEW POST
So Hoppy Together
Finally it's January 3rd and that means customers can now buy new products from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. What's even better is today is also the start of Stampin' Up!'s annual Sale-A-Bration promotion. This is where you can choose exclusive items for free simply for placing a qualifying order. One of the free items you could choose is the So Hoppy Together Stamp Set. My first project using this cute set is a bookmark, although with these new catalogues you might need more than ... Classic Garage Suite Sneak Peek
A couple of days ago I showed you a masculine decorated notebook using accessories from the Classic Garage suite in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. I promised you a proper look at the stamp set and dies, and today's the day. Well sort of. I didn't end up using the Garage Gears Dies on this masculine Valentine's card project, but I'll show them to you anyway. PREPARING THE CARD I began with a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card that I cut and scored using my Stampin' Trimmer. Then I ... VIEW POST
