One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! products is the way everything coordinates. It makes it so easy to create lovely projects with the minimum of fuss. That was important during my personal World Card Making Challenge last month as I tried to design and make 24 different cards in 24 hours. Today's project is the last of those using layers of different paper products for a celebration card. A SIMPLE START I began this project very simply with a piece of Thick Whisper ... VIEW POST
Online Extravaganza Part 1
It's been a really busy day so far and it's only 8 o'clock in the morning! Today is the first of three 48 hour Online Extravaganza promotions from Stampin' Up! with most paper and embellishments from the 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue on sale at 10% off. So for today's project I thought I'd create a Christmas card using only annual catalogue products. It wasn't as hard as you might think... CARD AND PAPER AT 10% OFF All the card and paper I used is included in the promotion today and ... VIEW POST
Looking for a tropical escape
Oh my goodness it's cold here in Nova Scotia! Currently minus 11 but with the wind it's feeling like minus 18! We had more snow overnight so I'll be out shovelling again later. Oh how I wish I was still enjoying my tropical escape in Florida. With winter conditions arriving so early this year, spring seems a lifetime away. Its a good job I can bring some pretty flowers into my craft room with Designer Series Paper. Today's project is a birthday card created as part of my personal ... VIEW POST
Noel and Christmas Pines
Well Christmas is definitely in the air here in my little part of Nova Scotia. Overnight we had a couple of inches of snow and everything looks very pretty. Mind you I don't think the pheasants that were out this morning were very impressed. Still, it was the perfect excuse to pull out the Christmas Pines Stamp Set with the large noel sentiment for today's project. PRETTY PINES I decided to start this project with the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies and my Big Shot and multipurpose ... VIEW POST
Simple Stamping
When I was at the 3 day Stampin' Up! OnStage Live event in Florida last week we were set a challenge. As Demonstrators we were reminded that not everyone is an experienced crafter and that it's important to go back to basics from time to time. This is something that I've been doing for a couple of years with my Simple Sunday projects. Today I thought I'd show you some really simple stamping with a limited edition stamp set that's only available until the end of the month (while stocks ... VIEW POST
Dashing Into 2019
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? Me? I haven't really started. When there's just the two of you, there's not so much to do. Plus when I ran a daycare centre I was so busy organising Christmas festivities there my own Christmas was all done on Christmas Eve. Last minute became a necessity. I am aware though that Christmas is only 36 days away, with New Year 7 days later. This time will pass in an instant and I know we'll be dashing into 2019 before we know it. This ... VIEW POST
Better Belated Than Never
After spending a lovely couple of weeks driving through the US and attending Stampin' Up! OnStage Live in Orlando, Florida, I'm now back home and keen to get crafting. It will take a while to get back into my routine, and in case I missed something I thought this belated card was quite appropriate. It's the perfect card for a simple Sunday project. WATERCOLORED INKS I love colouring and have been using Stampin' Blends an awful lot lately. For today's project I decided to watercolour ... VIEW POST
Pigs Can Fly
Over the past couple of weeks I've been away at a Stampin' Up! event being held in Orlando, Florida. I had a great time and among other things I am now the proud owner of a 2019 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Brochure. Although hubby and I drove down together, he had to fly back early, so I was left to bring the car home alone. Lots of people thought I was mad but I was looking forward to the journey. In the end I completed the trip in just 4 days, and proved that ... VIEW POST
Happy Snowman
OMG the weather over on the east coast has been brutal. Let’s hope these storms aren’t a foretaste of the rest of autumn and winter! I can do without the wind, but to be honest I don’t mind snow, especially when it’s a happy snowman like this one from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set. THE SNOWSTORM I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card that I cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach a piece of the Blueberry Bushel small ... VIEW POST
Merry Christmas Thinlits
How are you doing with your Christmas preparations? Me, not so well. As usual I run out of time before I run out of tasks. So I thought the Merry Christmas Thinlits would be a great way to make some impressive cards fairly quickly. I began by using my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base. Next came the background layer. I lightly spritzed a ... VIEW POST
