Merry Christmas to all my blog readers and followers. Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement I appreciate it more than you'll ever know. So while you're hopefully spending the day in the way you would have wished, here's my first sneak peek from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Starting tomorrow all my projects will include sneak peeks and new product information, in the run up to January 3rd when these items will be available for customers to purchase. Have a great ... Peace And Love All Year
Excuse me but can anyone tell me what happened to the first three weeks of December? It can't possibly be Christmas Eve already. Mind you what better day to start 200th What Will You Stamp? challenge, WWYS200 - Merry Christmas to All. As the name suggests it's a Christmas stamp set, but it needn't be. Peace and love is a sentiment that's welcome all year. DELICATE BACKGROUND I decided to start my project with a pretty background using one of the decorative images from Merry Christmas ... VIEW POST
Sour Cream Container for a Small Gift
For today's simple Sunday project I thought I'd show you a fun way to wrap a small gift or loose candy. This sour cream container is probably one of the simplest containers to make and needs no scoring or folding. This version also includes a twine handle so you can hang it on the Christmas tree if you wish. SOUR CREAM CONTAINER So just to recap, the patterned paper I used for the sour cream container is from the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper pack. For this project I cut ... VIEW POST
DistINKtive Wreath Tag
Well all the snow we had last week is fast disappearing under the heavy rain we have today. It looks like it will be a green Christmas here in Nova Scotia. Are you ready for the big day yet? Or have you, like me, still got loads to do? Once the present buying is complete, there's the task of wrapping and labeling. So in case you're running low here's a DistINKtive® wreath tag idea using the Wishing You Well Stamp Set. DISTINKTIVE WREATH I began with the DistINKtive wreath image from ... VIEW POST
Seasonal Thoughts and Winter Woods
My regular blog readers will know that I always make a few 'thinking of you cards' at this time of year. I know first hand how hard Christmas can be at times, having lost my son suddenly last year. Seasonal thoughts can be tricky, and not everyone wants to be told to have a "merry Christmas". Sometimes it's enough just to say you are thinking of them. SEASONAL THOUGHTS I began this project with the sentiment from the Winter Woods Stamp Set. Using Gray Granite ink I simply stamped it ... VIEW POST
Simple Stamped Wreath
With less than a week to go I'm starting to wind down my Christmas projects. The Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue is coming to an end and I'm ready for a change. But before I do I wanted to remind you of a few Holiday Catalogue items that will be carrying over into 2019. One of them is the First Frost Stamp Set, and today I used it to make a simple stamped wreath. SIMPLE STAMPED WREATH I began with the long foliage image from the First Frost Stamp Set and an Old Olive ink pad. ... VIEW POST
Graceful Glass Designer Vellum
Well the storm has finally blown through and we now have blue skies again. Total snowfall amounts are hard to measure as we have some areas with very little snow and others where it's been blown into snowdrifts. We didn't lose power which is good, and that made me want to create a celebration card this morning. While looking for some inspiration I came across the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum and it all carried on from there. GRACEFUL GLASS DESIGNER VELLUM The 6" x 6" ... VIEW POST
Cracked Ice Background Effect
I'm in a hurry to get this blog post finished as we're under a winter storm warning and the snow's picking up. All the schools in the area are closed so they're only expecting it to get worse. Although it's only a week away, I was reminded that Christmas is not the only celebration at this time of year. People get married, have babies, and birthdays too. So I thought I'd create a birthday card today with what I can only describe as a cracked ice background. CRACKED ICE BACKGROUND ... VIEW POST
Silverware Wrap for the Christmas Table
One week today will be Christmas Eve, and two week's today New Year's Eve! I'm sure that can't be right. Does anyone else think that time has is no longer flying by, it's positively supersonic? Today is also time for another What Will You Stamp? Challenge WWYS199 - Peaceful Poinsettia, and I've one final Christmas table idea for you, a pretty way to present the silverware (cutlery). WATERCOLOR PENCILS I simply love the Peaceful Poinsettia Stamp Set for its large sentiments and holly ... VIEW POST
Custom Drink Coasters And Napkins
Yesterday I created a bottle wrap to dress up a Christmas table. Of course if there's drinks, there's glasses and they need coasters. So today's simple Sunday project is just that, a couple of drink coasters. CUSTOMISED DRINK COASTERS This project really is super simple. I started with a large paper napkin (from IKEA) that came folded into four. Between the bottom two layers of the folded napkin I placed a layer of Saran Wrap (cling film). Then I ironed the napkin on the hottest ... VIEW POST
