It's funny how often something I did in school many years ago sparks an experiment in my craft studio. They're not always successful, but earlier in the week I created a really fun background that was just perfect for my Design Team contribution for this week's What Will You Stamp/ Challenge #WWYS177 - Enjoy Life. As luck would have it the Just Us Girls Challenge this week is #JUGS449 - Watercolour Background, and the Global Design Project challenge this week is #GDP147 - Country / Farm Life, ... VIEW POST
Stampin’ Up! colours
Last month Stampin' Up! revamped their colour offering and we now have 50 different colours sorted into 5 different collections (I'm lumping both sets of current In Colors together here). With the free ink pad offer for anyone who decides to join Stampin' Up! in July I've seen a number of people debating which set they should opt for. All 5 colour families have great colours, and so for today's simple Sunday project I thought it would be fun to use all 50 Stampin' Write Markers so that you ... VIEW POST
P. S. Large Letters
Every now and then I get a bit guilty about some of the Stampin' Up! products I have that haven't seen a great deal of use, and today was one of those days. As I was looking through my new stamp sets for inspiration I picked up Beautiful Promenade and noticed a little P.S. stamp. While I didn't end up using that stamp set on today's project it certainly influenced it in a big way. As you can probably imagine I began this project with my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform, using it to cut ... VIEW POST
Masculine Hedgehugs
Well today's project isn't at all what I thought I'd be showing you. I had plans for floral panels using images from the Hedgehugs Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! I'd even decided on the pretty ribbon I'd use, but somehow instead I ended up with a really minimalist masculine card. Not that it's a bad thing, many people including me, find masculine cards challenging to make, so to end up with one by accident is a real bonus. To make this this card I started with a piece of Thick Very ... VIEW POST
Christmas in July
Next week in my regular monthly papercraft class our theme will be Christmas In July and I've been putting together some new designs using old, but still available, Stampin' Up! products. The first set I grabbed was the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set, which has some lovely large sentiments as well as smaller sentiments that could be used on the inside of a card. It also has some great coordinating images. One particular sentiment "Wrapped in the warmth of Christmas' caught my eye and from ... VIEW POST
Another tropical escape
Like many of you I've been glued to the news about the 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped deep inside a flooded cave system in Thailand. Over the past two days 8 boys have been rescued, and as I write this post the process of getting the remaining 5 people out is already underway. This drama has captured the attention of the world and there are hundreds of people involved in helping to ensure that this story has a happy ending. Some have travelled from across the globe to assist the ... VIEW POST
Animal Outing meets Tropical Chic
This week the What Will You Stamp? Challenge features the Animal Outing Stamp Set. I received this stamp set for free at a Stampin' Up! event I attended in April and I've had a lot of fun creating projects with it. Free and discounted products are one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and right now Stampin' Up! has an amazing joining offer. For more information about joining my team of Crafty Canadians contact me via the 'Get In Touch' link in the bar at the top of the page. ... VIEW POST
Bee Thankful
I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with projects created using a single Stampin' Up! colour (plus a neutral). Yesterday I focused on Blueberry Bushel, before that it was Blackberry Bliss, and before that it was Shaded Spruce. For today's simple Sunday project though I thought it would be fun to go even simpler and create a thank you card using only black and white. I mounted the Bee Thankful Stamp from Stampin' Up! onto my Stamparatus stamp positioning platform and inked it ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Promenade
Yesterday I was searching for something entirely different when I came across a box of mini chocolates that I'd purchased last year in Amsterdam. The colours inspired me in my papercrafting this morning, and as I know I don't have any windmill images I pulled out the Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set instead. I began by looking for an appropriate blue ink. Blueberry Bushel ink was a bit dark, but Bashful Blue was too light. To solve my problem I stamped the sentiment and separate blue ... VIEW POST
