Only 10 days until Christmas and things are really starting to get hectic. Invitations to parties or just to visit has me thinking of host/ess gifts. Today's project using the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set is a nice way to dress up a wine bottle (or any other bottle for that matter). THE BOTTLE WRAP I started by measuring the bottle. For this 1 litre wine bottle I'd need a piece of Whisper White Card 12" long. The depth of the card? That was dictated by the depth of the label already ... VIEW POST
Triangle Box for Hershey Nuggets
While it's no secret that I love York Peppermint Patties, I do have other favourite chocolates too. Since moving to Canada I've discovered Hershey Nuggets and have not yet managed to eat just one. So it should come as no surprise that today's project features these in a little triangle box that's perfect for a table favor or stocking stuffer. TRIANGLE BOX LAYOUT Obviously this project all started with the box. Using my Stampin' Trimmer I began by cutting a piece of Soft Sea Foam Card ... VIEW POST
All Things Thanks
Do you ever express your thanks to people who impact your lives on a regular basis but you never see? I'm thinking about people like the garbage collectors and the person who delivers the mail. Not to mention the lovely guy who delivers my Stampin' Up! parcels! It doesn't take much to leave a card and/or a small gift for them, but I've not get found a stamp set that says 'thank you for collecting my garbage'. What I have got though is the All Things Thanks Stamp Set which is the next best ... VIEW POST
Sweet Treat Packages
Time's ticking away and I've another quick Christmas project for you, snack-size sweet treat packages. These would be great for stocking stuffers, table favors, or a token gift to give out to anyone you meet. My favourite is the York Peppermint Patty, but I'm aware that some people prefer Reeses Pieces. So I've created two versions of my treat packages, one for a York Patty, and the other for the slightly larger Reeses. ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD Both sweet treat packages were created using ... VIEW POST
Thankful Thoughts – Thanks or Thank You?
On Sunday I showed you a #simplestamping project using a single ink pad and stamp set. I thought it was really sweet, ideal if you need to make a stack of thank you cards in a hurry. But if you want something a little more elaborate here's another idea for you using a sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set. With snow still on the ground here in Nova Scotia and temperatures well below freezing, my project was bound to have a bit of a winter vibe. THOUGHTS OF WINTER I began by ... VIEW POST
Making Christmas Bright
With Christmas just over two weeks away you've probably sent all your cards. Now it's time to start wrapping the gifts and work on those finishing touches. Handmade gift wrap, tags, treat packaging and table favours all add a personal touch. This week's What Will You Stamp? challenge is WWYS198 Making Christmas Bright so for my Design Team contribution I decided to create this gift tag. JUST A LITTLE STAMPING AND PUNCHING I began with a piece of Whisper White Card and using Tuxedo Black ... VIEW POST
#SimpleStamping Challenge – Thank You
Every week for several years now I've brought you a Simple Sunday project. Sometimes it's involved a simple layout, sometimes it's a simple technique or idea. My idea was that it's easy to get so caught up in all the extras, that sometimes we forget that papercrafting doesn't have to be complicated, or need lots of expensive tools. Well it seems that Stampin' Up! agrees with me and you'll start to see projects using the #simplestamping hashtag. #SIMPLESTAMPING So to kick off this year long ... VIEW POST
Jingle Bells And More Snow
We're back on that weather roller coaster with temperatures well below the average for this time of year. Yesterday we also had more snow to replace the stuff that washed away by last week's rain. Sadly with the temperature currently at minus 9, this lot won't be melting anytime soon. It looks like we'll be out with the shovels and snowblower this time around. Still, it does look very Christmassy. In fact it inspired me to leave quite a bit of white around the jingle bells paper on today's ... VIEW POST
Banners For You For Ever
Sometimes I buy a stamp set or dies not because I have an immediate need for them but because I can see their long-term potential. Banners for You was one of those stamp sets, and of course I had to get the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies too. Although there are a number of words and phrases in the set, what drew me in were the four different banner outlines. These simple stamps would allow me to create an infinite number of custom banner sentiments. Fast forward to the ... VIEW POST
Snow-free Beautiful Blizzard
Since the 2019 Holiday Catalogue Retiring List was published yesterday I've been going through my stamp sets. I'm always sad to see a product retiring, especially when I'd been sure it would make the carry-over list. Beautiful Blizzard is one such set. It's retiring and I wanted to give it at least one more outing. Today though I avoided the blues and grey and went with much brighter colours to bring you a Beautiful Blizzard project with not a snowflake in sight. SEASONS GREETINGS I ... VIEW POST
