At last we’ve come to the end of a busy week. I didn’t achieve everything I set out to do, but I came close so I’ll take that as a win. We’re currently under a snowfall warning with 6” to 8” of snow forecast for the next 24 hours. That could be fun, until we have to go out and shovel it. Fortunately my latest order from Stampin’ Up! was delivered yesterday, including the Perfectly Detailed Stamp Set for me. Right now I’m thinking there’s snow better time to craft. DETAILED ... Greatest Journey Begins
Having all 50 of Stampin’ Up!’s colours in inks and card is a big part of my crafting enjoyment. I’m often asked which colours someone should get and I generally respond with “my favourites may not be your favourites, so get what YOU like”. However what I do suggest is to start your colour journey by picking a few colours you like. Then as you’re making things you’ll find yourself wishing you had x colour, so then make a note to add that to your next order, and so on. LAYERS OF ... VIEW POST
Decorative Details
It seems to me that just lately my projects aren’t quite going according to plan. Not that it’s a bad thing, but simply that while I may start out with an idea for a project somehow it seems to take on a life of its own. For instance, for today’s thank you card I had every intention of using an embossing folder to add texture to the patterned paper. However before I knew it I’d stamped on the paper using the Decorative Borders Stamp Set and coloured it in instead! QUARTER SHEET My card ... VIEW POST
Another Adorable Owl
Today’s project took longer than normal to make. Not because it’s difficult, but because I had to stop to unclog my Fine-Tip Glue Pen. As I was finishing this task I realised it would be helpful if I filmed my process so I could show you what I do. Unfortunately in the video I’d zoomed in really close on my second bottle and most of what I was doing was off camera! So while I wait for it to get clogged again, here’s the adorable owl that started it all. STANDING OWL My project began when ... VIEW POST
Happy Labels
Yesterday’s freezing rain was more like ice pellets but at least the power stayed on. Now it’s back to rain again and our mild winter continues. It’s hard to believe it’s already mid-January! But it’s the beginning of another week and time to break out two bundles from the Stampin’ Up! January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue. The image-only Petal Park and sentiment-only Happy Labels seem to be a match made in heaven. Add in the coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch and Happy Labels Pick-A-Punch and ... VIEW POST
Bits Of Favored Flowers
So far we’ve avoided the freezing rain but there’s a six hour period later today when that could still happen. The resulting build-up of ice can be quite pretty in the sunshine, but very dangerous to walk or drive on. So I’m taking Mother Nature’s suggestion that today should be another crafting day. Unfortunately the weight of ice build-up on power lines can bring them down so we need to prepare for that possibility. Meanwhile enjoy today’s simple Sunday project featuring the free Favored ... Ready To Craft
So our journey through the Canadian weather options continues today. Yesterday we had several inches of snow. During the evening and overnight that turned to rain which has completely washed away all the snow. That’s nice, as it means that our decision not to go out and shovel it paid off. Today however they’re forecasting freezing rain which is a whole other ballgame. It looks like Mother Nature wants me to stay in and craft some more and I’m definitely ready to oblige, starting with this easy ... VIEW POST
Dainty Vintage Flowers
It’s Friday the 13th and there’s a snowstorm going on outside. Kind of how it feels inside my head right now with this nasty cold. It’s definitely a day to stay in and craft and that’s precisely what I intend to do. Today’s project is a quick one using the Dainty Flowers 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). This gorgeous DSP reminds me of Victorian dried flower pictures I’ve seen in many stately homes in England. With a design this pretty I really didn’t have to do much else. DAINTY ... VIEW POST
Best Remedy Perhaps
Yesterday I wasn’t feeling brilliant. Today despite dosing myself up on Tylenol I’m actually feeling worse. So I’ve decided to have a lazy day. As soon as I’ve finished this post I shall make myself some hot chocolate and retire to the sofa. There I will stay except when I need to get up to change the DVD. Meanwhile you can enjoy today’s project created using the stamp set from The Best Remedy Kit, together with the Day At The Farm Designer Series Paper (DSP) available for free during ... VIEW POST
Petal Park Pieces
The lurgy that’s going around has finally got me and I’m currently dosed up with medication. So for today’s project I needed to find something that I could put together really quickly. If you’re a regular follower of my blog you’ll remember a box decorated using the new Petal Park Stamp Set and coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch. After finishing that project I had a few pieces left over. Today I decided that with a pretty box to gift, I could use those pieces to create a birthday gift ... VIEW POST
