I was attracted to the five new 2023-2025 In Colors from Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw them. There’s something about these earth tones that just captured my imagination, and I was immediately sad that they’d only be around for two years. The first one that really caught my eye was Moody Mauve. I’ve always thought of mauve as a purple but this has more of a pink tone. Regardless of the name I love it and decided to create a card using nothing else (except white and gold). MAUVE HEARTS I ... VIEW POST
Courage & Faith
I don’t know where the time is going but I think I’m going to run out of month before I run out of things I need to get done. Sadly not all of them are fun tasks but I have a strategy… I’ll use the nice ones to reward myself for doing the boring and less enjoyable jobs. Of course it would probably help if I set a timer to stop myself spending all day on a ‘reward’. It’s tough though when I have new stamp sets like Courage & Faith to play with! COURAGE WITH COLOUR This project ... VIEW POST
More Wonderful Thoughts
Tuesday is when Stampin’ Up! gives Demonstrators updates and advance information, and today they announced a wonderful new promotion. From June 1st to 30th selected Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs will be on sale at 15% off! From the Annual Catalogue it’s the packs on pages 129 to 132, plus the Hello, Irresistible DSP from the Online Exclusives range. But before I start planning my order for June 1st, here’s today’s card project. It uses the Wonderful Thoughts and Bird's Eye View Stamp Sets, ... VIEW POST
Boho Blue Coordination
A couple of weeks ago I created a simple thank you card using a 6” x 6” piece from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. After making the card I was left with a small scrap of DSP and decided to turn it into a quick gift tag. Using scraps of card in the same colour scheme of Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue, along with the Happy Labels Stamp Set I set to work. All I needed to add was the Something Fancy Dies to make the shape. BOHO BLUE SCRAPS As this was a bonus project, my ... VIEW POST
Zoo Crew Sloth
It’s Sunday and day two of the long weekend here in Nova Scotia. Three day weekends are great as I get a bonus day to play in my craft studio. That’s especially exciting as my latest Stampin’ Up! order was delivered last Thursday and I still have lots of goodies to explore. Meanwhile I’m having fun mixing and matching things I’ve had a bit longer. So for today’s simple Sunday project I created this card using a sloth from the Zoo Crew 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. ZOO CREW ... VIEW POST
Countryside Inn On Display
As soon as I saw the Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kit last year I knew I had to get it. As well as the white-framed 12” x 12” metal board, the kit includes lots of other parts and pieces to dress it up. I’ve revamped the colour scheme a few times in the past but my most recent update was in October! Today I decided it was high time I removed that cute Christmas gnome theme. So pulling out the Countryside Inn 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I set to work. COUNTRYSIDE FOX I ... VIEW POST
Construction Zone
Yesterday I was very excited to receive a parcel from Stampin’ Up! In it were some new products for local customers, but there was also stuff for me. This time I’d ordered some new ink pad and card colours, plus some pretty new ribbons. But what I really wanted to play with were the new stamp sets, dies and punch. Construction Zone was one stamp set, and I’d bought it with the idea of making children’s birthday cards. However instead of a birthday card, this was the card I eventually ... VIEW POST
Daisies In White
It’s no secret that I love daisies, especially large bright gerberas. But for today’s project I decided to try something altogether different. Instead of colourful flowers on a white background I thought it would be fun to reverse that. So my flowers would be completely white while everything else would provide the colour. One of my favourite colours to pair with white is blue, especially dark blue. This always seems to create an elegant result that never gets old. Then with that basic plan in ... VIEW POST
Petal Park Puzzled
I’m a big fan of stamp sets that coordinate with punches or dies, simply because they provide so many more possibilities for my creative process. But that doesn’t mean the stamp set or tool can’t be used by itself too. In fact some of my most enjoyable crafting sessions are when I’m exploring how to use just one half of a coordinating set. Today for instance I wanted to see whether the Petal Park triple flower stamp (designed for the Petal Park Builder Punch) fitted within the large multi-leaf ... VIEW POST
Stylish Layered Shapes
When looking through the Stampin’ Up! Up! catalogue it’s easy to be drawn in by the fancy dies. I find that’s especially true if the dies coordinate with a stamp set. But what about those ‘boring’ sets, you know the simpler shapes that are designed to be universal? If you’re like me you’ll get them because you know they’ll be useful, but then rarely use them. Take the Stylish Shapes Dies, I’ve had these for quite a while, but only today did I make something that made me go “wow!” SIMPLE ... VIEW POST
