Of all the stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue, Go To Greetings is the one I think is the most appropriately named. For me at least. It’s a 13 piece, sentiment only stamp set that has just five different sentiments. There’s a single small “hello”. Then the other 12 stamps are three each of “Happy Birthday”, “Thinking of You”, “Thank You” and “Just a note”. Each ‘set’ has the sentiment in three different sizes with a different font for each size. It truly is a ‘go to’ for me. QUICK ... VIEW POST
Hexagon Hints
Just because a new product is an early release from the January to April 2024 Mini Catalogue doesn’t mean it can’t be used for any season. As soon as I saw the Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp Set and coordinating punch I knew it would be versatile. But even without the stamp set the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch is worth getting. In fact I decided it was going to be very handy for cutting angled sentiments and mat layers. So that’s exactly what I did when I was designing this two-part gift tag. HEXAGON ... VIEW POST
Rhino An In Color® Secret
When I started making cards I didn’t understand why people added layers. It really seemed like an unnecessary cost. But as time passed I realised even the simplest layers added interest. That’s why I love Stampin’ Up!s commitment to colour coordination, it makes everything much easier. For example, when designing this card using the Rhino Ready Stamp Set I found a simple background design to match the ink colour. So if you’re looking for 2023-2025 In Color backgrounds, check out the Fresh As A ... VIEW POST
Distressed & Delighted
Yesterday I received a parcel of goodies from Stampin’ Up! and I couldn’t wait to get them unpacked. It was mostly new Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers plus a few packs of cardstock. But amongst them were a couple of stamp sets along with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. As soon as it was unpacked I had to experiment and created a vintage-style bookmark. But while looking for an ‘old’ book for the photo I was delighted and amazed to discover one containing a family inscription ... VIEW POST
Simple Hope & Prayer
It’s Monday again, and raining. Two of my least favourite things. The weekend flew by as I was at a craft fair in Debert, Nova Scotia. It’s nice to be able to talk to people about my papercraft passion and also get their feedback on the cards and other things I had for sale. Sadly the most requested items were ‘sympathy’ and ‘thinking of you’ cards. So for today’s blog post here’s a card created using the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set during my recent World Card Making Day marathon. HELLO, ... VIEW POST
Polar Bear Christmas Card
In my blog post yesterday I showed you a pretty little gift tag using a small scrap of Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP). However I’d jumped the gun a bit because I’d ended up with the scrap while working on my “24 cards in 24 hours” marathon last weekend. So today I thought it made sense to show you how to make that card. Believe it or not with some careful cutting I was able to create the card and tag using one 6” x 6” piece of DSP. BEARY CHRISTMAS QUARTER SHEET This card all ... VIEW POST
Another Beary Quick Project
You don’t need to have followed me for long to know that I hate to waste my craft supplies. Whether it’s finding new ways to use tools and materials, or simply making the most of what I have, I love to make my crafting budget go further. So when I ended up with a small (1-3/4” x 2-3/4”) piece of Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) there was no way I was going to throw it away. Instead I decided to turn it into a quick and easy gift tag. BEARY CAREFUL CUTTING There's lots of ... VIEW POST
By My Side Revisited
Today’s card is another from my personal “24 cards in 24 hours challenge” for World Card Making Day. This was number 15, and the one that I created just before midnight, prior to taking a 5 hour nap. It’s been ages since I’ve used the By My Side Stamp Set and I have no idea why. I really love the three characters, each one with an animal companion by their side. The only issue I have is how skinny their arms and legs are, which makes fussy cutting somewhat challenging. ABSTRACT ... VIEW POST
Blends On DistINKtive® Images
One of the perks of living in rural Nova Scotia is most definitely the scenery. This morning I was up early and as I looked out the window I was treated to a spectacular sunrise. It actually made the maple trees in our front yard look like they were glowing. Fortunately I quickly snapped a few photos as minutes later the glow was gone. All that was left was a moody sky and more muted autumn colours. That inspired today’s bookmark project using Stampin’ Blends over a DistINKtive stamped ... VIEW POST
Cane Weave Is Golden
Compared to many Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators I don’t have a huge amount of current products. Still it’s very easy sometimes for me to forget what I do have. So last weekend’s 24 cards in 24 hours marathon was the perfect opportunity to rediscover some old favourites. One of those was the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder used to create this masculine birthday card. In fact I used it to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope flap. But the highlight was seeing it shining in ... VIEW POST
