Moving on from yesterday’s Suit & Tie Dies sneak peek, today I have a cute card for you. This one is quite unique in that I used no ink or stamps at all to create it. Instead the sentiment and images all come from the adorable Snail Mail 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.

SNIP SNIP SNIP
I began by selecting a sheet of DSP with a variety of large snail images. Then using Paper Snips I carefully cut around the snail man image.
Next, from another sheet in the pack I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a long strip of smaller snail images. Then I cut the 12″ strip into two; one 4″ long and the other 8″ long, and set them aside.
Finally I took a third sheet that was covered in speech bubbles with the words “hello”, “bonjour” and “hallo”. I chose a Bermuda Bay hello and cut that out with Paper Snips. In no time at all I was ready to start assembling my project.
First, using my Paper Trimmer I began by cutting and scoring some Bermuda Bay Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.

Next I took a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of retiring Whisper White Card and using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the 4″ strip of DSP along the bottom edge. Then I glued the layer inside the card base.
Using more liquid glue I fixed the other long DSP strip along the bottom edge on the front of a retiring Whisper White Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess using Paper Snips.
Now I was ready to work on the card front. For my focal point I started by cutting some background layers. First a 3″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Basic Gray Card, then a 2-7/8″ x 3-3/8″ piece of Coastal Cabana Card. This was followed by a 1″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Sahara Sand Card. With that done I glued the Coastal Cabana piece onto the Basic Gray layer, then added the Sahara Sand piece on top.
Finally using more liquid glue I added the snail man and “hello” pieces, before attaching the assembled layers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And that was it, one cute card created in double quick time from just card, paper and a little adhesive.
SNAIL MAIL SUITE
The Designer Series Paper used today is part of a larger suite of products that will be available from Stampin’ Up! starting January 5th.
First up is the Snail Mail Stamp Set with cute snails, toadstools, 4 sentiments and more. There’s also an image in the stamp set that coordinates with the Postage Stamp Punch in the Annual Catalogue.
Then there’s the coordinating Snail Dies. As well as cutting out images from the stamp set, I believe that some of the dies will also cut out images in the DSP pack. Sadly I don’t yet have the dies so I’ve not had the chance to confirm this for myself. The stamp set and dies will be available separately, or save 10% by ordering them using the discounted ‘bundle’ item number.
Accessories for the suite are Real Red and Whisper White Resin Heart embellishments. Then there’s also the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack with 15 yards each of Blushing Bride and Whisper White Twine.
Unfortunately the dies weren’t available when I placed my pre-order which is why I don’t yet have the bundle to show you. But you can be sure it will be one of the first things on my order next Tuesday!
Now I’m off to play with some more new products. I hope you’ll join me again tomorrow for a sneak peek of a stamp set you’ll be able to get for FREE.
