Today my first task was to celebrate the launch of the Last Chance Promotion and Clearance Rack refresh with a small order. I was also planning to take advantage of a Demonstrator perk by placing an order for some new products from the January to April Mini Catalogue. But first I needed to finish my blog post. Unfortunately we had strong winds and torrential rain overnight which caused the power to go out. After 9 hours it’s finally restored, and so I’m celebrating the return of heat and light instead.
RAYS OF LIGHT
This card was my first attempt using the Rays of Light Stamp Set from the 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue. As it’s a large stamp I automatically reached for my Stamparatus stamp positioning platform, that way I wasn’t struggling to hold a large block.
With the stamp mounted onto the hinged plate I inked it up with Daffodil Delight ink. Then using a Sponge Dauber I added some Mango Melody ink around the centre. After that I simply closed the plate to stamp the image onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card.
For my card base I wanted a dramatic contrast and chose Basic Black Card. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card, then folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. With that done I mounted the stamped layer on the front of the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Before continuing with the card front I decided to do a little more stamping with the Rays of Light Stamp. So after cleaning it off with a Simply Shammy I inked it up with VersaMark ink and stamped onto a second 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. This gave me a light tone-on-tone look which was then glued inside the card base.
Finally I repeated the process and stamped the image in VersaMark ink onto the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
CELEBRATE A CARRY-OVER SET
That just left the sentiment to do and for that I reached for the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set. This stamp set is being carried over into 2023 at least until the end of April.
Using VersaMark ink I stamped “Let’s celebrate you!” onto some Very Vanilla Card. Then, unlike the previous VersaMark stamping, I sprinkled the sentiment with gold powder from the Metallics Embossing Powders pack. After tapping off the excess powder, I removed some stray specks then melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
To cut it out I knew I needed a circle of some sort and I found one in the Celebrations Tag Dies set. So with the sentiment cut I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and attached it to my card front. Job done.
I must say that I’m really impressed with the Rays of Light Stamp Set. It’s a very simple idea but so striking don’t you think. Now I need to experiment with it to see what else it can do. Watch this space!
LAST CHANCE PROMOTION – All the products being retired from the July to December Mini Catalogue are now only available while stocks last. A number of these are already sold out so If you’ve left it late to get something please don’t delay any longer. For the most up-to-date selection check the Last Chance section of my online store.
I do need to point out that while the Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set is being carried over, the Celebrations Tag Dies are not! The dies are included in the Last Chance promotion and are now on sale at 40% off while remaining stocks last. For this reason it’s now cheaper to buy the stamp set and dies separately rather than using the single ‘bundle’ item number.
CLEARANCE RACK REFRESHED – If the Last Chance Promotion wasn’t enough Stampin’ Up! refreshed the Clearance Rack to day too. There’s FIVE pages of retired products to choose from at up to 60% off. Products in the Clearance Rack have been retired a while and I have a feeling this amazing selection won’t be around for long.
