It’s time for another Simple Sunday project and today I’m taking up the Stampin’ Up! #simplestamping challenge. This month we were challenged to create a Christmas or New Year card using just stamps, ink, paper with Designer Series Paper as our bonus product. So twenty minutes ago I sat down, grabbed the Rustic Retreat Stamp Set and Let It Snow DSP and ended up with this Christmas card.

It all started when I pulled out a scrap of paper from the Let It Snow pack covered in little snowmen. With absolutely no idea what I was going to create, it seemed like a good place to start.
I laid the strip on a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Card so I could see how much room I had left to play with. Then using Blueberry Bushel ink I stamped the sentiment from the Rustic Retreat Stamp Set in the bottom corner. Why Blueberry Bushel? Well it’s one of the colours used in the DSP and being quite dark created a nice contrast on the white card.
With the stamping done I trimmed the 2″ wide DSP to 5-1/4″and glued it into place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I created a card base from Blueberry Bushel Card and used more liquid glue to fix the stamped layer directly onto the front.
SIMPLE FINISHING TOUCHES
To complete the project I cut a 1″ strip of the same DSP and glued it down the right-hand edge of another layer of Whisper White Card. Then I fixed this inside the card base with liquid glue.
That just left the Whisper White Medium Envelope to decorate.
Using more of the same DSP and liquid glue I covered the flap of the envelope. Then with the edge of the flap to guide me, I trimmed the DSP to shape using Paper Snips.
Twenty minutes, start to finish. With no complicated techniques or expensive tools this is #simplestamping at its best.

Perfect pairing of DSP and Sentiment stamping, Tracy! How can you not just smile, looking at that fun-filled DSP?! Love how the Blueberry Bushel pulls out the same colour in the patterned paper also … for your sentiment and card base! Super CUTE!!!
Thank you Geraldine
