With Christmas only days away I’m acutely aware of all the things I still have to do. Today’s simple Sunday project actually began as an attempt to use up the various scraps of paper I have laying around. I found a few bits from the Painted Christmas 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack that had images that could be individually cut out. So one evening last week while watching a Christmas movie I did just that using my Paper Snips. By the time I was done I had a nice little pile of pieces just waiting to be added to a project.

CHRISTMAS GIFT TAG
I decided some of the pieces would look lovely layered onto a gift tag and so that’s what I set out to make today.
I began by cutting a 2″ x 4″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using the Detailed Trio Punch I added an oval hole in the centre at one end. Through the hole I threaded some gold cord from the Simply Elegant Trim pack and tied it in a simple knot.
Next I selected my sentiment from the Christmas To Remember Stamp Set. Using Evening Evergreen ink I stamped “Have a holly jolly Christmas” onto some Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch.
Now all I needed to do was add the various fussy cut pieces to the top left and bottom right of the punched piece. I decided to do this by attaching the pieces to the back of the sentiment using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then once I was happy with the arrangement and colours I flipped the whole thing over.

After adding Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the assembled sentiment piece I attached it to the tag base. And just like that my tag was done.
I still have a variety of other fussy-cut pieces and I intend to use them up on some more tags. It’s so nice to see even the smallest scraps don’t get wasted. What do you think?
