Today’s project was already half made when I sat down this morning. You see, when I’m creating I often end up with pieces left over. If it’s a stamped image I always keep it with the stamp set for another day. So this morning when I opened up the A Great Man box, out fell a stamped and coloured image. So with a little striped paper from the Come Sail Away pack I had a masculine gift tag in record time.

RELAX AND COLOUR
The image I found had been stamped onto Whisper White Card using Tuxedo Black ink. On the back I had written the Stampin’ Blends colours used to colour it in. I’d chosen light Balmy Blue and Old Olive for the clothes. The hat and ground were a combination of light Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede. For the skin I went with light Petal Pink, while the stripes on the chair were light Night of Navy. And that was where I’d stopped.
Having returned to the image today I decided to cut it out using Paper Snips. That left some stark white areas around the legs of the deckchair that I didn’t like. So I took a small piece of Stampin’ Sponge and gently added a little Sahara Sand ink to tone it down.
COME SAIL AWAY
For my tag base I found this lovely Balmy Blue striped design in the retiring Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I cut a strip 2″ x 4-1/4″ and then cut a piece of Whisper White Card the same size. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the DSP to the card and shaped the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

For my “It’s Your Day” sentiment I went back to the A Good Man Stamp Set. I decided to stamp directly onto the DSP but needed to be sure I got a strong dark colour. So I placed the tag into my Stamparatus and stamped the sentiment four times using Tuxedo Black ink.
With the sentiment done I added the fussy cut image onto the bottom of the tag with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then to finish I threaded some 3/8″ Denim Ribbon through the slot and held it in place with a couple of Mini Glue Dots.
I’m really going to miss the retiring Come Sail Away DSP. It’s still available to purchase in the Last Chance section of my online store, but only while stocks last.
STAMPIN’ BLENDS
There has been some confusion over the status of Stampin’ Blends as they are in the Last Chance section too. But don’t worry the only colours that are really retiring are Call Me Clover, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch. All the other Stampin’ Blends will still be available in the new catalogue.
What is happening is that Stampin’ Up! has decided to only offer Stampin’ Blends as light and dark combos. This is why all the single markers are being sold off. Currently when you order a ‘combo’ what you are in fact doing is using one item number to get two single markers. So that’s why you’ll see ‘combos’ in the last chance section too. In the new catalogue combo packs of Stampin’ Blends will have a new number and the two markers will be packaged together. And here’s a little sneak peek for you – there will be FIVE new colours added to the collection!
PRODUCT LIST
The light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends marker is not currently available but will be back on sale as part of an Old Olive Combo pack, once the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue goes live on June 3rd.
