One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) is that the two sides are printed with a different pattern. That means it’s much more versatile than you might initially think. Take the ‘Tis The Season 6″ x 6″ DSP pack. One side of each sheet has definite Christmas images while on the reverse are more generic patterns. I thought the green plaid pattern would make a great masculine card for today’s simple Sunday project.

MASCULINE PLAID
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to make the card base.
Next I cut this lovely masculine plaid DSP. I cut the first piece 2-1/4″ x 6″ and fixed it to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I trimmed it to shape with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a piece of DSP 3/4″ x 5-1/4″. Using liquid glue I fixed this piece along the edge of a layer of Whisper White Card.
Finally I cut one last piece of DSP 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ and glued that to the front of the card base.
Although I was making a masculine card I didn’t want it to be boring so I pulled out the new Red & Green Foil Sheets. I cut a 1/8″ strip of the green foil and glued it along the edge of the DSP on the card front. Then I glued another strip of the foil along the edge of the DSP on the Whisper White layer. With that done I glued the assembled layer inside the card base.

For the “happy birthday” sentiment I turned to the Here’s A Card Stamp Set, using Shaded Spruce ink to stamp it onto the card front.
To finish I added a single self-adhesive Star Designer Element and my simple card was complete.
Looking at my project you’d never guess that both the DSP and the foil sheets were “Christmas” products. Getting more for my money, now that’s my kind of crafting.
