Are you a flowery crafter? I didn’t think I was until I looked back at projects I’ve made so far this year. However those photos don’t lie. Mind you, with so many gorgeous stamp sets, dies and punches in the Stampin’ Up! range it’s not difficult to find something to suit every taste. For today’s Simple Sunday project I turned to the Dainty Delight Stamp Set. I love the finished result and show another way to add ribbon to a gift tag without needing to use a punch or dies.

DAINTY STEMS
I started by cutting a 2-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I coloured the surface with Starry Sky ink using a Blending Brush.
Next I stamped one of the flowery stems from the Dainty Delight Stamp Set with Shaded Spruce ink. Instead of colouring the image using Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers, I decided to use my ink pads and a Blender Pen.
I chose Crushed Curry and Shaded Spruce and began by pressing down on the lids of the closed ink pads. This pressed the lid onto the pad, transferring some of the ink to the inside. Then when I opened the ink pads I simply had to pick up the colour with the tip of the Blender Pen. After colouring the leaves I scribbled the Blender Pen onto some scrap paper to remove the excess Shaded Spruce ink. As soon as the scribbles turned clear I knew the Blender Pen was ready to dip in the Crushed Curry ink to colour the flowers.
While doing this I decided I wanted the two largest flowers to be popped up, so I found a scrap of Thick Very Vanilla Card and stamped the image onto it with Shaded Spruce ink. Next I coloured the two flowers in the same way, before cutting them out using my Paper Snips.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Before putting away the stamp set I needed a sentiment and I chose “Celebrate you”. Using Shaded Spruce ink I stamped it onto another scrap of Thick Very Vanilla Card. After cutting around “celebrate” with my Paper Snips I added it to the bottom of the floral piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

Of course I still had to turn the floral layer into a tag by adding ribbon. To do this I started by cutting a 1/2″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I coloured it using Starry Sky ink and a Blending Brush. Flipping this piece over I put liquid glue on the back.
Next I cut 5″ of Starry Sky 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon and folded it in half. I flipped the larger card piece over and lay the cut ends of the ribbon in the centre at the top. Then I lined up the smaller piece with the top of the larger one, sandwiching the ribbon ends between them.

Finally I flipped the assembled tag over and added the two fussy cut flowers using pieces of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then with three small Rhinestone Basic Jewels scattered around the floral stem I was done.
I love how this tag turned out, especially since it’s the first time I’ve tried this method for attaching ribbon to a tag. I’d love to know what you think.
