Here we go again, too many tasks and not enough time. So I’ve a very quick blog post with a really simple dotty Christmas card.
DOTTY SIMPLE LAYERS
I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card cut and scored using a Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached a layer of Old Olive Card to the front of the card base. On top of that I attached a piece of the dotty pattern from the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper pack.
Then on the inside of the card I used liquid glue to attach a layer of Whisper White Card as a liner.
Next I used liquid glue to attach another piece of the DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Finally I cut the DSP to shape using Paper Snips.
CHRISTMAS SENTIMENT AND IMAGES
For my Christmas sentiment and holly image I pulled out the Peaceful Poinsettia Stamp Set.
I began by stamping the large sentiment onto Whisper White Card using Real Red ink. Then I attached the piece to a layer of Old Olive Card with liquid glue. Finally I fixed the layered sentiment onto the card base at an angle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All that left was the pretty holly images.
On some Thick Whisper White Card I stamped the holly 3 times using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I coloured them in using Stampin’ Blends. I started the berries with light Calypso Coral then added light and dark Poppy Parade. The holly leaves were coloured using light and dark Granny Apple Green.
Next using my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform I cut out the holly images with the coordinating die from the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies.
I attached two of the holly pieces to the sentiment layer and the final one on the inside of the card and I was finished.
How is it that a simple dotty background can suddenly seem perfect for Christmas? What started out as a desperate need for a very quick project, has turned into a really fun card. I hope you like it.
BUNDLE BONUS – I purchased the Peaceful Poinsettia Stamp Set and coordinated Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies using a single bundle item number. This meant that I saved 10% off the cost of buying the same two items separately. I’ve included both options in the product list so you can explore both options if you wish.
