Do you make New Year’s resolutions? I used to, but like most people I never stuck to them for long. Instead, two years ago I started a ‘bullet journal’. In it I keep all my ‘to do’ lists, reminders and generally anything I want to remember. It’s been a great help especially for those moments when an idea strikes me while I’m in the middle of something else. Now I have somewhere to write it and most importantly find it again. No more wondering what happened to that old envelope, or Post-It® note I scribbled on.
So before tell you about this morning’s thoughts, here’s the Simple Sunday project I was working on.

MOMENTS AND WORDS
I have to start with the beautiful sentiment from the Lasting Lily Stamp Set. ‘For the moments you can’t put into words’, it covers so many possibilities.
I simply stamped it onto Thick Whisper White Card using Granny Apple Green ink.
Using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform I then cut out the sentiment with the #3 oval die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits (counting from the smallest up).
CLEAN AND SIMPLE
For my card base I cut and scored a piece of Thick Whisper White Card on my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut the leafy pattern from the Tropical Escape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack to completely cover the front of the card. The cut DSP was simply attached using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

I cut another piece of the DSP 3/4″ wide and fixed that to a layer of Whisper White Card. This piece was then glued to the inside of the card base.
Finally I cut one last piece of DSP and attached it to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed the DSP with Paper Snips following the shape of the flap.
All that was left was to attach the sentiment to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. One simple card finished in no time at all.
I absolutely love this card. It’s totally unfussy but somehow has a lot of interest. The eye is also drawn to that amazing sentiment, which is exactly what I wanted. I hope you like it as much as I do.
BACK TO MY THOUGHTFUL MOMENTS
So while I was making this card early this morning I had a number of thoughts.
Firstly, and I must admit this was prompted by a customer question…
I need to let you know that to earn free products from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure you simply need to order $60 of products (before shipping and taxes). If you want one of the higher value items (like the Lasting Lily Stamp Set) then you’ll need to order $120 of products. The point is though, that it doesn’t matter what Stampin’ Up! products you order. You are not limited to items from the Occasions Catalogue which was also launched on January 3rd. Your qualifying order can include products from the Occasions and 2018/2019 Annual Catalogues, and the Clearance Rack, and also items on the 2018 Holiday Catalogue Carryover List.
Secondly, the Tropical Escape DSP reminded me of the January Paper Pumpkin kit, Be Mine, Valentine. This kit will contain everything you need to make 24 treat packages with a Valentine’s Day theme. In addition, Stampin’ Up! have revealed that the kit will coordinate with the Animal Expedition Suite found on page 27 of the Annual Catalogue. However despite the coordination, you don’t need any of the Animal Expedition products to complete the kit.

If you’d like to see the kit please make sure you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by January 10th. The kit will be shipped to you a few days later. Once you have the kit, if you love it, great! Watch out for some of my alternative project ideas. If however you’re not happy, simply let me know and I’ll arrange for you to receive refund. Every month I hear people say they ‘skipped this month’s kit’ or ‘didn’t get around to subscribing’, and regret it. With Stampin’ Up! offering a money-back guarantee there’s no reason not to give this month’s, or any month’s kit, a try. Then once you actually have it decide if you want to keep it.

One final thing… I mentioned that the Lasting Lily Stamp Set is one of the free Sale-A-Bration items you can earn. This means that it cannot be purchased from Stampin’ Up!, now or ever. In order to get any of the exclusive Sale-A-Bration items, first select the regular Stampin’ Up! products you want and add them to your basket. Then, when you go to check out, the system will tell you how many Sale-A-Bration items you have earned. At this point you can input your free items and then complete your order. If you place your order through me personally, rather than through my online store, I will remind you about Sale-A-Bration if you qualify.
If you want to see another simple card I designed using the Lasting Lily Stamp Set, you’ll find it in my blog post Lasting Lily Sneak Peek.
OK that’s it for today. I’ve no idea what I’ll have for you tomorrow as I haven’t made it yet. Better get back to my craft studio!
