Today’s project is a quick sneak peek of a new stamp set and dies being released by Stampin’ Up! on Tuesday (November 7^th). They’re called Fluffiest Friends and I just couldn’t resist these cute images. The stamp set includes a rabbit, bird, bear and hamster. Plus I don’t think the Canadians among you will be able to resist that sweet beaver. But for my first project using this set I reached for the fat cat and a couple of the small ‘scene-builder’ stamps. I simply love how it turned out.

FLUFFIEST CAT

All I needed to start was some scraps of Thick Basic White Card. On the larger piece (about 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″) I stamped the flowers twice with Tuxedo Black ink. Then above the flowers on the right I stamped the three bees. Next I used a Blending Brush to add a light layer of Starry Sky ink for the sky, before adding Granny Apple Green ink for the ground.

On another scrap of Basic White Card I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the cat. Then I set to work with my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For the cat’s fur I used dark and light Gray Granite. Then for the flower pot I chose light and dark Copper Clay. Finally I coloured all the leaves using light Granny Apple Green before adding dark Daffodil Delight to the flower centres and the bees.

With the colouring complete I cut out the cat using the coordinating die from the Fluffiest Friends Dies set. Then I chose the domed die to cut out my little background scene.

There’s no sentiments in the Fluffiest Friends Stamp Set so I found the simple “just for you” in the So Sincere Stamp Set. Once I’d stamped the it towards the top of the background layer with Tuxedo Black ink I added the die-cut cat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally I used the piercing attachment on the Take Your Pick tool to add a hole at the top. Then I threaded 6″ of white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack through the hole and tied it in a simple knot. Job done.
