Today’s blog project is a quick showcase of a notebook that would be a great gift for the gardener or bird lover. For this I went back to some products in the Annual Catalogue, the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set and Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP).

FOR THE GARDENER?
I simply can’t get enough of the Bird Ballad DSP and I know I’m not the only one. I’m not even sure what the flowers / shrub on this particular design are, but I just know this make me smile. Perhaps if there’s a keen gardener reading this post they can give me some suggestions?
Anyway, I began with a 1″ x 3″ piece of the DSP and wrapped it around a mechanical pencil. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I glued the ends of the strip together. This was now a holder for the pencil which I attached to the outside of the back cover with more liquid glue.
Next I cut some of the paper to fit over the boring cover on the notebook and glued it into place. This also covered the ends of the pencil holder and would ensure it stayed firmly attached. The notebook has rounded corners, so I then used Paper Snips to shape the DSP using the original cover as a guide.
JUST A NOTE
My “just a note” sentiment is a favourite from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set. I stamped it onto Whisper White Card using Tuxedo Black ink before punching it out with the Pretty Label Punch.
To complete my project I fixed the sentiment to the front of the notebook with liquid glue.
Such a quick project to make but quite appealing, don’t you think?
