I loved the Fresh As A Daisy 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack as soon as I saw it and have been determined to make the most of every tiny scrap. One of the sheets in the pack contains ten smaller panels that are designed to be cut apart. Included in the panels is a scene that could be a wheat field, desert or beach. I’ve managed to make three separate projects from this one 5-1/4” x 4” piece. Today’s final project also uses the Zany Zoo Stamp Set.

FRESH SCENE
This zany llama project was actually the first of the three I made with the scene panel from the Fresh As A Daisy DSP. Having cut the panel from the main sheet I cut it into two pieces, each one 2-5/8″ wide by 4″ high. Then I trimmed 1-3/8″ off the top of both pieces. Now I had two 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ land and sky pieces, plus two 1-3/8″ x 2-5/8″ pieces with just clouds. For this project I only needed one of the square pieces of DSP.
I began by cutting a 3-1/8″ x 6-3/4″ piece of Azure Afternoon Card. Then with the long side at the top I scored the card at 3-1/8″ and 3-5/8″. After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder. Then I simply wrapped the card around a 3″ x 3″ sticky notes pad and attached the back of the pad to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I cut a 2-3/4″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Wild Wheat Card. Using liquid glue I mounted the square scene piece onto the card leaving an even border at the bottom and sides.
PHOTOBOMB LLAMA
All I needed now was a little extra detail and for that I chose the knitting llama image from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set. First I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the top part of the image onto a scrap of Basic White Card. Then using Paper Snips I cut out just the llama’s neck and head. To colour the image I started with a light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker for everything but the whites of her eyes. Finally, using the dark Crumb Cake marker, I coloured her eye-lids, woolly coat and part of her ears.

With the colouring done I glued the llama in the bottom right-hand corner of the mounted scene. Then using my Paper Snips I trimmed the bottom of the llama’s neck using the edge of the card layer as a guide.
I could also have added a sentiment at this point but decided against it. Instead I simply used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the completed scene to the sticky notes cover, tight up against the top edge and with an even border at the sides. And just like that my project was complete.
I must say that whenever I make something where a character appears to be photobombing it always makes me laugh. I hope this #simplestamping project brightens your day too.
