Oh my goodness I’m having so much fun with new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2021/2022 Annual Catalogue. I promise you I didn’t get a whole lot (compared to previous years) and I still have a long wish list. However what I did get is really making me smile. From the 2021-2023 In Colors, to a few stamp sets, dies, and a lone turtle punch, I simply can’t stop playing. Today it was the turn of the Encircled In Friendship Stamp Set for a simple thank you card.

ALSTROEMERIA (PERUVIAN LILY)
As soon as I saw the large floral stamp in the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set I was reminded of one of my favourite plants. Alstroemeria or the Peruvian Lily comes in a range of colours and of course I had to make mine purple. Especially since it gave me another excuse to play with the new Fresh Freesia ink, card and Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
I began today’s project with the large round floral image from the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set. Using Fresh Freesia ink I stamped the image twice onto a 3″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Across the bottom right corner I stamped virtually the whole image, while in the top left corner I stamped a smaller portion.
I already knew I wanted to use the flowers as my coordinating feature so I stamped it twice more. This time in the bottom right corner of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White Card, and again on the front of a Basic White Medium Envelope.
With the flowers stamped I then set to work colouring them in using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Fresh Freesia and Soft Succulent.

Once the colouring was complete I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Fresh Freesia Card. Next I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the larger Basic White layer on the inside.
ENCIRCLED IN FRIENDSHIP
I really liked how the flowers had turned out and discarded my original plan to add Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the front of the card. Instead I opted to keep the design really clean and simple.
Going back to the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set I chose the sentiment, “with heartfelt thanks”. Then I used Soft Succulent ink to stamp it between the floral images on the remaining Basic White layer.
Next I cut a 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″ piece of Soft Succulent Card and mounted the white panel onto it with liquid glue.

At this point I changed my plans again and reached for the new Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials. This pack contains self-adhesive epoxy embellishments in three different shapes; raindrop, diamond and circle. For this card I chose the diamond-shaped clear embellishments and added three of them to my assembled panel.
Finally all I had to do was fix the panel to my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my newest project was complete.
I must say that I’m really pleased with how this card turned out. It’s a really simple layout that works beautifully with the sentiment. What do you think?
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Encircled in Friendship Stamp Set in a bundle with the Encircled in Beauty Dies (not used today). This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two products separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore that option. You can see the dies’ first outing in my blog post Scrapbooking the turtle-y loved.
