Today I will have the pleasure of entertaining some Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from New Brunswick. We’ll be spending four fun-filled hours playing with products from the new Catalogue and talking about all the good things to come. So while I’m doing that let me remind you of a few things current items that are retiring. Masculine projects are often challenging, so today’s Simple Sunday project includes a couple of retiring items that you might want to get before they’re gone for good.
#SimpleStamping is all about simple cards without lots of complicated techniques or expensive tools. Today’s project is a perfect example of that.
I started this project by using my retiring Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a piece of the retiring Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). I chose the design featuring motorcycles and trimmed it to 5-1/2″wide by 4-1/4″ high. Then I cut 1-1/8″ off the bottom.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the larger piece to the front of the card base at the top. Then I fixed the other piece along the bottom edge on the inside of the card base.
Next I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the ‘You’re A Classic’ sentiment from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set on the card front.
SIMPLE FINISHING TOUCHES
To complete the front of the card I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to attach a piece of retiring Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon along the bottom edge of the DSP.
Finally, using liquid glue, I fixed another piece of the motorcycle DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Once I’d cut the DSP to shape with Paper Snips my #simplestamping project was complete.
GEARED UP GARAGE
The Geared Up Garage Stamp Set is one that’s thankfully being carried over into the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue. Also coming back are a couple of elements of the suite I didn’t use today, the Garage Gears Dies and the Classic Garage Metal Elements. However the DSP and ribbon I used today are not, and they’re now only available while stocks last.
Also going away on June 3rd is the bundle discount when you buy the stamp set and dies together. So if you want to get these at 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately, you’ll need to place your order by then.
Well that’s it for me, I have to go and get ready for today’s fun. I hope you are able to find time for some creativity too.
