Lots to do today so I have a really quick project for you. I thought about this a while ago, but then the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) went onto backorder. I’m delighted to say that the paper is back in stock now, so here’s a quick and easy idea for decorating a simple pocket photo album.

GINGHAM GALA
It all started with the Gingham Gala DSP. The colours used (Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist) are so cheerful and remind me of summer. Even the colour names are summery.
So using my Stampin’ Trimmer I began by cutting two of the Balmy Blue gingham sheets to fit the front and back cover of the pocket photo album. The back cover I would leave plain, so I simply slipped the DSP into the pocket.
Next I used my Big Shot and multipurpose platform to cut out some Granny Apple Green Card using the Large Letters Framelits. Then I attached the F, U and N to the bottom right of the DSP layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
With the large letters in place I could then get to work on the final layers.
I cut a strip of Whisper White Card, and using Night of Navy ink stamped individual letters from the Make A Difference Stamp Set to spell the word ‘Summer’. This stamp set is amazing. The letters are so easy to line up to create a scripted sentiment that says anything you want.

Next, using liquid glue, I attached the stamped strip to a layer of Night of Navy Card. Then I fixed the assembled piece to the gingham background and slid it into the front of the pocket album. My project was finished in no time.
I had thought of adding some sort of image to the piece, but after spending some time trying out various options I decided I liked the clean and simple look that I had initially achieved.
Quick and easy, this is a project I could see children doing with their parents or grandparents. Then they could fill the album with happy memories to keep.
