I can’t believe that I’m saying this but the Envelope Punch Board is being retired by Stampin’ Up! I use this simple gadget a lot and have to admit that it’s a tool that I’ll definitely keep hold of. I find it so useful for making custom envelopes in all sizes, and of course one of those sizes is for gift cards. So as we prepare to say goodbye I created this little good luck gift card holder.

To create the good luck gift card holder I started with a 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Call Me Clover Card. Then I placed it onto my Envelope Punch board with the left edge at the 2-3/8″ mark.
I punched and scored then turned the card counter-clockwise, lining up the scored line with the pointer. Then I punched and scored again. I continued this process until all four sides were punched and scored.
Finally I rounded the corners using the reverse punch on the Envelope Punch Board.
If you’re more of a visual learner here’s an earlier video showing how I create a gift card envelope. The finished project is different but the process is the same.
GOOD LUCK
To decorate my gift card holder I used stamps from the retiring Amazing Life Stamp Set.
Using Call Me Clover ink I stamped the good luck sentiment onto some Very Vanilla Card. Then I mounted this onto Gold Glimmer Paper using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The two decorative flourishes around the envelope corners is actually one stamp. So all I needed to do was stamp it in opposite corners with Call Me Clover ink. While I was at it I also stamped the image in the point of the envelope flap.

With everything prepared, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to assemble the envelope. Then finally I added the layered sentiment to the front and I was done.
I’m really going to miss using the Envelope Punch Board on my blog projects, but never fear I already have a new style of gift card holder in the works. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, you’ll find some of my other Envelope Punch Board projects in these earlier blog posts.
CLEARANCE RACK UPDATED!

At this time of year Stampin’ Up! is making space for all the wonderful new goodies that are coming our way. So as well as the list of current products that are retiring, there’s some older already retired products to clear out too. That’s why this morning, Stampin’ Up! updated the Clearance Rack. If you’re thinking ahead, there are lots of Christmas and Halloween themed products at up to 60% off. But don’t hang about, at these prices they won’t be there for long.
PRODUCT LIST
The Stampin’ Trimmer and Envelope Punch Board I used today are retiring and only available while stocks last. The Amazing Life Stamp Set is also retiring but stocks are guaranteed to be available until May 24th.
BUNDLE BONUS – Even though the Amazing Life Stamp Set is retiring, you can still get it as part of a bundle with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Buying these two items using a single bundle item number will save you 10% off the cost of buying the same two items separately. This bundle offer is guaranteed until May 24th, after which it is available while stocks of the retiring stamp set remain. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to look at this in more detail. The dies are carrying over and will be in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue which launches on June 4th.
Very cute gift card! Along with you Tracy, I have to admit this is one tool I couldn’t imagine living without either and was very surprised to see it being retired too. (not to mention, puzzled!) Aside from making all the custom-sized envelopes, just think of all the little paper crafts that aren’t going to be made using it?!! Totally bamboozled on this one! So glad that I have it though! 🙂
Thank you Geraldine. I’ve no doubt there’s a good business reason for the decision, but I’ll miss using it for blog projects all the same.
