Only 3 more days to the end of May and the official end of the Stampin’ Up! 2017/2018 Annual Catalogue and 2018 Occasions Catalogue. That means that anything that’s on the retiring list and still in stock will be only be on sale for a few more days. After that time there’s a slim chance that remaining stocks may appear at some time in the future on the Clearance Rack, but personally I would never bank on that as every year Stampin’ Up! clears room in the warehouse by donating huge piles of retired products to good causes. So if there’s something you still want you need to act fast.
One stamp set that’s retiring is featured on this week’s What Will You Stamp? Challenge WWYS170 – Truly Tailored. So, as part of the What Will You Stamp? Design Team, this is my final chance to create a project combining this set and a little sneak peek from the new Annual Catalogue.
I started this project with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer, folded along the scored line and the crease sharpened with a Bone Folder. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach a piece from the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack to the front before fixing a narrow strip of the paper down the right hand edge inside the card base. One last piece of the same DSP was attached to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope with liquid glue and cut to shape with Paper Snips.
The sentiment comes from the retiring Truly Tailored Stamp Set, stamped with VersaMark Ink onto strip of Thick Whisper White Card that I’d wiped with an Embossing Buddy. I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. Once I’d removed a few stray specks of powder I melted the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high). Paper Snips were used to finish the end of the sentiment strip in a wide V.
Next came the pretty diamond design accent. This is a strip of Gold Foil Sheet with some narrow pieces from the new Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper attached with liquid glue. Once the laser-cut strips were attached I cut a couple of Vs in one end to match the shape of the white pieces then fixed the embossed sentiment on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete the sentiment layer I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out two pieces from White Vellum Cardstock. I attached the two pieces behind the top of the gold foil banner with liquid glue and trimmed off the excess. One of the vellum scraps was then added to the bottom of the sentiment strip using liquid glue at the back.
All that was left was to attach the assembled sentiment to the card front and finish it off with a medium Blackberry Bliss accent from the Faceted Dots pack.
I love the simple layout of this card, with interest coming from the repetition of angular shapes on the sentiment piece and a touch of luxury from the gold foil layer and embossing. I hope you like it.

CHALLENGE
This project was created for the Design Team Gallery of the What Will You Stamp? Challenge for WWYS170 – Truly Tailored and you’ll find inspiring projects from the rest of the team over on the blog.
If you have this stamp set we’d love you to join this week’s challenge. The rules are simple; create a new project using at least one image from the Truly Tailored Stamp Set and upload it to the challenge blog. Each week we randomly select one person to be our weekly winner and as well as bragging rights and a winner’s badge to display on their social media, they also receive an invitation to join us as our Guest Designer two weeks later. It might even be you!
So that’s it from me for today. I do hope you’ll be able to join me again tomorrow for another sneak peek project.
