And just like that we’re halfway through the weekend and it’s time for another of my simple Sunday projects. But first I have a little happy news, the Countryside Inn 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) has been restocked. So to celebrate I decided to use some on my card and envelope. The pattern I chose today is one I haven’t used before, it’s a white background covered with small flowers and leaves in shades of blue. For the sentiment I immediately reached for the Happy Labels Stamp Set.

SIMPLY HAPPY
To start I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White Card. Then with the long side at the top I used the scoring blade to score the card at 4-1/4″. After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my A2 card base.
Next I cut a 6″ x 6″ piece of the floral paper, and from that cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I glued the 2-1/4″ piece to the flap of a Basic White Envelope. Then I simply trimmed off the excess with my Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Night of Navy Card, and from my patterned paper I cut a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece. Using liquid glue I fixed the paper onto the card layer lining them up along one of the long edges. Then I glued the layered pieces onto the card base lining the floral edge up against the crease.

All that remained of my 6″ x 6″ square of paper was a 3/4″ x 6″ strip and I trimmed that down to 5-1/4″. Then with liquid glue I fixed it along the bottom edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. With that done I glued the layers inside the card base leaving an even border on all sides.
That just left the sentiment to do and I chose “I just want to hug you” from the Happy Labels Stamp Set. Using Night of Navy ink I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base in the bottom right corner of the visible white area. In just minutes my simple card was finally complete.
