Hello and happy Canada Day! Once again we’ve come to the beginning of a new month and my To Do list has exploded. My morning started well and then it’s gradually gone downhill from there. Of course after the excitement of placing my pre-order for products from the upcoming August to June Mini Catalogue I shouldn’t be surprised.
So for today’s project I couldn’t help but start with red and white card. Then after a little cutting, punching, embossing and sticking I had a fun new magnet for my fridge.

DIFFERENT DAISY
I began my project by stamping the smaller daisy image from the Daisy Lane Stamp Set onto Whisper White Card using Real Red ink. Next with the coordinating Medium Daisy Punch I punched out the flower. Then I punched out two more flowers from plain Whisper White Card.
I decided to make the flower look a little different by glueing the two white daisies with pairs of petals close together. Then I attached the stamped daisy so the red petals sat on top of the white petal pairs.
For the leaves I turned to the Forever Flourishing Dies. I cut three pieces from Granny Apple Green Card and glued them on top of each other.
HELLO
Next came the “hello” sentiment from the Forever Fern Stamp Set. First I stamped “hello” onto a narrow strip of Real Red Card using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. After removing a few stray specks, I melted the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
It was time to put my project together.
While clearing out my craft room I found some very strong round magnets. I’ve no idea where they came from, but they gave me an idea… I decided to attach one of them to a large clothes pin with hot glue. Once the hot glue had cooled I used liquid glue to fix the “hello” strip to the other side of the clothes pin.

Next I attached some loops of Linen Thread to the blank end of the hello strip with Mini Glue Dots. Then over the top of the thread I fixed the die-cut leaves with liquid glue.
Finally I added my assembled flower to the clothes pin with a Stampin’ Dimensional and my project was finished.
Bright and cheerful, I think this altered clothes pin clip will be both useful and pretty on my desk. What do you think?
