Every now and then I want to make up a stack of treat packages. It may be for a birthday, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, or just because. In the past I’ve tended to leave them until the last minute, mostly because I’m worried they’d get damaged. But also because storing them takes up space. Stampin’ Up! obviously heard about my dilemma and came up with a brilliant solution, the Little Treat Box.

This is a small box that can be die-cut and decorated ahead of time and stored flat. Then just before they are needed simply fold the sides up and insert the two tabs into the corresponding slots. That’s it, no adhesive required!

DECORATE YOUR WAY
For this box I started with a 5-1/2″ x 7″ piece of Purple Posy Card. Then I used the main die from the Little Treat Box Dies to cut out the box shape. This die also adds ‘scored’ lines, but before folding I decided to decorate the box piece first.
For my decoration I turned to the coordinating Little Treats Stamp Set and chose the floral image. Using Highland Heather ink I stamped the flower image in two diagonal lines across the card. Then I folded the box piece along the scored lies and sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder.
Next I chose the “Especially for you” sentiment and stamped that into some Whisper White Card. Then I cut out the sentiment using the circle stitched die from the Little Treat Box Dies. With that done I fixed the sentiment to the front of the box with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals. If I was making up the boxes in advance I could stop at this point and store them until needed.
Today though I finished by folding up the sides of the box, tucked the tabs into the slots and added a couple of Hershey’s Nuggets. Finally lifted up the front and back pieces and tied a bow at the top using some Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

I love these little boxes, but I can hear you asking what would fit in them. Well instead of two Hershey’s Nuggets, you could add two Ghirardelli Squares, or a York Peppermint Patty, or even a mini box of TicTacs. Other treats may also fit but this was just what I had to hand.
I’ll have more treat projects in the future but in the meantime here’s a look at the Little Treat Box Dies. You can cut two of the main box piece from one 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of card.
