There are so many wonderful free products in the 2019 Sale-A-Bration Brochure that it’s taking me a while to get to them. This morning I decided to ink up the Home To Roost Stamp Set. It’s a 6 piece cling mount set with four useful sentiments plus great rooster and grass images.
I have a few different ideas for this set but for my first project I thought I’d keep it fairly simple.

HOME TO ROOST
Obviously I had to start with that rooster.
Using Cajun Craze ink I stamped him onto a scrap of Whisper White Card using Cajun Craze ink. Then using a barely damp Aqua Painter I coloured him using Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow and Mango Melody inks.
TIP – to get a little ink to paint with, press firmly on the lid of a closed ink pad. You’ll find a little ink is transferred to the inside of the lid which you can use as a palette. Once you’re done you can wipe the lid clean, or leave for next time.
Once the rooster was painted I set him aside to dry.
SIMPLE CARD
Using my Stampin’ Trimmer I cut and scored a piece of Cajun Craze Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. This would be my card base.
Next I took a layer of Very Vanilla Card and stamped the grasses image in the bottom left corner using Crumb Cake ink. Then without reinking the stamp I stamped it again slightly to the right.

Using Cajun Craze ink I stamped the ‘just a note’ sentiment in the bottom right corner. Now I could fix the completed later to the front of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
For the inside of the card base I wanted another layer of Very Vanilla Card. But first it needed decorating, so I stamped the grass twice in the bottom left like I’d done for the front of the card. Then I stamped the grasses in the bottom right corner too. With that done I fixed the layer inside the card base with liquid glue.
The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope was finished in exactly the same way as my card liner, with the grass image stamped in the bottom corners.
All that was left was to use Paper Snips to cut out the painted rooster. Then I attached him to the front of the card with liquid glue and I was done.
Quick and easy with no frills. Ideal if you want to make a whole set of these. If you don’t want them all identical you could create some with a Mossy Meadow or Mango Melody card base. What do you think?
SALE-A-BRATION PRODUCTS
Home to Roost is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set. This means that it cannot be purchased, only selected from the choice of free items in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. In order to qualify for free Sale-A-Bration items all you have to do is place a $60 CAD order (before shipping and taxes).
For every $60 you get to choose 1 level 1 item (like Home to Roost). If your order is at least $120 CAD then two higher value level 2 products are added to your choices. There’s no limit on the number of items you can choose, and if you want more than one of something that’s fine too. It all depends on the value of your order.
If you’re ordering online the system will prompt you to enter your choices during the checkout process. For this reason you’ll find I’ve added the Home To Roost Stamp Set at the end of my product list.
