Happy New Year everyone, and welcome to 2022. I’m not quite sure where 2021 went but very thankful it’s gone. Somehow last year seemed to fly by and now we get to look forward to better times (hopefully). For the past few years I’ve created an easel calendar / Post-It® Note holder and this has been a popular project. So I see no reason to change my routine. This year’s theme is bees, and for that I needed the new Honeybee Home Stamp Set and coordinating Honeybee Blooms Dies. Instead of a patterned paper background I couldn’t resist another new product, the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

HEART & HOME INSPIRATION
The base for this project is exactly the same as an easel card. I just add extra ‘stuff’. Although I said I didn’t use patterned paper for the background, there is a little bit covering the Post-It Note pad. This was actually where the inspiration for the project started.

It’s a pattern from the Heart & Home 12″ x 12″ Designed Series Paper (DSP) pack and covered in flowers and bees. What’s really interesting is that the three different bee images can be cut out with dies from the Honeybee Blooms Dies. You’ll have seen this in the video. But it was the Cinnamon Cider and Pale Papaya colour scheme that caught my eye, and my project developed from there.
While the design is pretty simple I decided it was well past time for another video tutorial, hopefully this will make the process easier for you to follow.
MEASUREMENTS
As promised in the video, here’s all the measurements you’ll need to create the project…
For the base and background:
- Cinnamon Cider Card – 4-1/4″ x 11″ (scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″)
- Cinnamon Cider Card – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Pale Papaya Card – 4″ x 5-1/4″ (two pieces)
Then for the calendar and Post-It Notes additions:
- Cinnamon Cider Card – 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
- Cinnamon Cider Card – 2-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ (or 1/4″ bigger than your calendar tab)
- Pale Papaya Card – 1/2″ x 2-1/4″
- Thick Very Vanilla Card – scrap (to stamp 2 honeybees)
- Heart & Home DSP – 3-1/8″ x 4″
- Gold Fine Art Ribbon – 4″
Finally, these other items were purchased online:
- Mini 2022 Calendar Tab (search online for a supplier in your region)
- 3″ x 3″ Post-It Note pad (Staples)
- Mini Ballpoint Pen (Staples)
HONEYBEE HOME STAMP SET AND MORE
To complete the project I used one of the three bee images in the new Honeybee Stamp Set. After stamping and colouring the images I cut them out using the coordinating dies from the Honeybee Blooms Dies.

The Pale Papaya background layers were created by first misting them lightly with clean water using a Stampin’ Spritzer. Then I embossed the pieces using the new Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I did this off-camera so that they would have time to dry before I attached them to the project.
The final part of the honeybee puzzle was the Heart & Home 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). The pack contains twelve sheets (two each of six double-sided designs). On one side is a variety of drawn wood-effect patterns. Then on the reverse is the honeybee pattern I used on my project, plus four floral patterns, and one graphic design.
Here’s a closer look at the very pretty Honeybee Home Stamp Set.

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Honeybee Home Stamp Set and coordinating Honeybee Blooms Dies using a single ‘bundle’ item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included links for both options so you can explore these further if you wish.
