Some weeks ago I was talking about some of my old projects. I’ve been an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for almost 5 years, and been blogging daily for over 4 of them, so there’s a lot out there! Sadly, many of the products and materials I used in these older projects have now retired. Certainly not all of them, but enough. So I asked if there were any old projects that you’d like me to remake using current products and one of my customers came up with a great one. In fact I’ve since realised that I never showed the project on my blog as I originally made it as a customer thank you gift. So this hot chocolate pouch is especially for you Brenda, thank you for suggesting it.
ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD AND PRETTY PAPER
Essentially this is just a piece of 6″ x 6″ paper from the stunning Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper Pack (DSP). Using the Envelope Punch Board I started with the DSP at the 2-5/8″ mark, punched and then scored.
Rotating the paper anticlockwise, I lined up the scored line with the pointer then punched and scored again. Then I repeated the punching and scoring once more. Finally I rotated the paper anticlockwise and lined up the scored line but this time I only punched. So you start with a punch and finish with a punch, ending up with three scored lines and 4 notches.
TIP – When I have people tell me they struggle to use the Envelope Punch Board I’ve found one common mistake. The measurement that I’ve given, and the others you’ll find printed on the board, is for lining up the paper at the start of the process only. Once you have made that first punch and score, ignore the ruler. All you need from then on is to line up the scored line with that pointer.
For those you you who work better visually I created this short video showing the whole process from start to finish.
MMM HOT CHOCOLATE
I love hot chocolate, especially in the autumn and winter. I used individual sachets of Nestle Carnation Hot Chocolate in my pouches but most sachets should fit.
On my original project I used a stamp set called Hug In A Mug for the sentiment, but sadly that one has retired. There’s lots of other great options in current stamp sets though.
Today I chose ‘your friendship warms my heart’ from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set as it fitted the Pretty Label Punch quite nicely.
You might also like these other options, although you might need a different punch or die to fit some of them:
- “May the simple joys of the season be yours” from the Christmas Pines Stamp Set;
- “Cold hands… warm heartfelt greetings for a very merry Christmas” from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set;
- “Wrapped in the warmth of Christmas” from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set;
- “Enjoy the warmth of the season” from the Hearts Come Home Stamp Set;
- “Sugar and spice make Christmas nice” from the So Santa Stamp Set;
- “’tis the sweet season” from the Candy Cane Season Stamp Set;
- “Wishing you a cozy season” from the Homemade Kindness Stamp Set.
I’m sure you can find many more similar sentiments but I’ll include links to these extra stamp sets below just to get you started.
So that’s it for me for now. Don’t forget if you’d like to see me recreate one of my older projects with current products, just let me know.
