I Work Better When I’m Organised

March 5, 2020 2 Comments

With a new project on my blog every day you’ve probably gathered that I’m a passionate papercrafter. This means that over the years I’ve collected a lot of stuff. I’ve also learned that I have more fun crafting when I’m organised. That doesn’t mean I’ve planned out my project in advance and got everything prepared like a chef in a kitchen. What I mean is that I know exactly where things are should I need to use them.

One of the tools I use a lot is the Take Your Pick Tool. This handy gadget has a paper piercer, spatula, putty tip, two sizes of scoring tool, and now even a die brush. I love it. But to be honest I’ve struggled to find a storage solution for all the pieces. I wanted something that would keep everything organised but at the same time make accessing the parts easy. The other day I had an epiphany and now I’m excited to bring you my solution.

Keep the Take Your Pick Tool and other small tools from Stampin' Up! organised and easily accessible with this simple storage solution #papercraftwithme

ORGANISED AND ACCESSIBLE

My solution to keep all the little things organised is a simple but pretty tray box, but it’s the insert that’s the genius part.

My finished stand measures 4″ x 4″ x 2″ and is really quick and easy to make. Rather than explain everything which wouldn’t take very long, I created a video for you.

The measurements for the pieces are as follows:

  • Pretty Peacock Card for the box – 8″ x 8″, scored on all four sides at 2″
  • Whisper White Card – 1-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ (four of these)
  • Lily Impressions DSP – 1-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ (four of these)

The flower foam bought at Michaels was 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ x 1-5/16″. Make sure you get the hard foam designed for dried flower arrangements and not the soft green ‘oasis’ block used for fresh flowers.

So that’s it. Quick and easy and so useful. I can’t believe I never thought of this before!
