It’s the first Wednesday of the month and time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “Colour Me Happy”. It’s no secret that I love the 2023-2025 In Colors and so I decided to create all my projects using three of the five; Boho Blue, Copper Clay and Wild Wheat. For the IDEAS Tutorial bundle I designed two cards and a gift card holder using a simple watermark technique. But not before I painted with In Color inks and did a little embossing to create an eye-catching notebook cover.

PLAYING IN THE RAIN
I began with the cute fox image from the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set. Using VersaMark ink I stamped him onto some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with black powder from the Basics Embossing Powders pack. After removing a few stray specks, I melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high). With that done I stamped and heat embossed the little puddle too.

While the embossing cooled I prepared the three In Color ink pads. While they were closed I squeezed each one firmly in the centre of the lid. This pressed the lid onto the foam pad so some of the ink was transferred to the inside of the lid. Then when I opened the pads all I had to do was mix in a drop or two of water and begin painting.
For the fox I used layers of Copper Clay ink, allowing each one to dry before adding more. For his coat, hat and umbrella I used Wild Wheat ink. Finally I painted the separate puddle using Boho Blue ink and left everything to dry thoroughly.
RAINING IN COLOR
Now I needed to add some layers to the front of my 4″ x 5-1/2″ spiral notebook. So from the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I found a 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ Boho Blue panel covered with raindrops. That was perfect, so I cut a 2-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ piece of Boho Blue Card and fixed the DSP on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

Next I needed to cut out my painted pieces, and that was easy using the coordinating Playing In The Rain Dies. Unfortunately as I was deciding where to place the fox and puddle on my layered DSP I realised I really didn’t like the white edges. So I went back to my ink pad and Water Painter and simply painted them with Boho Blue ink. What a difference!
Of course that meant I had to leave the pieces to dry again, While I waited I cut two 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ pieces of Misty Moonlight Card and embossed them using the Raindrops Embossing Folder. Using liquid glue I fixed the embossed card to the back and front covers of my notebook. Then I glued the layered DSP on the front along with the painted puddle.. Finally I added my In Color fox using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
COLOR ME HAPPY SOME MORE
So with my blog project out of the way let me tell you a little more about this month’s IDEAS Tutorial Bundle. The June “Colour Me Happy” PDF contains 78 pages featuring 32 projects from 14 different designers. The collage below provides a little sneak peek of what’s inside.

For my projects I was inspired by those Boho Blue In Color raindrops on the DSP which reminded me of a watermark technique. So my three projects feature this easy technique and the same three In Colors used here on my notebook.
If you’d like a copy of the IDEAS Tutorial Bundle for your own personal use, or even to use in your classes, there are three different ways to get it:
- Place an order via my online store for $45CAD (before shipping and taxes) using my June 2023 Host Code BZ7ZMMCD. Make sure to allow Stampin’ Up! to share your contact details so I can e-mail the tutorial to you. If your order is over $200CAD don’t use the Host Code or you’ll miss out on Stampin’ Rewards. However, so long as I have access to your contact details I’ll still send you the PDF.
- Join Stampin’ Up! and my Crafty Canadians team, and you’ll get this IDEAS tutorial for free.
- Buy the tutorial. Contact me at tutorials@papercraftwithme.com for more information.
Once you’ve received the bundle, please remember not to share or distribute printed or electronic copies of the tutorials. The IDEAS Team has worked hard to provide these exclusive projects for your own personal use. However, if you know someone who would like their own copy of the tutorial bundle, simply ask them to contact me about it. Thank you for your support.
So that’s it from me for today, but please visit Debbi Green on the next leg of the blog hop by clicking on the ‘NEXT’ button below.
Finally, in the table below you’ll find links to all the products I used to decorate my notebook today. Product lists for the two cards and gift card holder created for the Tutorial Bundle are included in there.
