Today is an exciting day for me as I join the IDEAS Design Team in time for their November blog hop and Tutorial PDF release. This month the theme is “Punch It Up” and our brief was to create projects using our favourite punch. I could have chosen something that coordinates with a stamp set, but opted for something completely different instead. I decided to focus on the punch I use more than any other, the Detailed Trio Punch.
SNOWMAN SEASON
OK I know I’ve used the Snowman Season Stamp Set a few times recently but I may be slightly addicted. I mean, who could resist the look of joy on that snowman’s face?

For my tag I cut a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Basic White Card and stamped the snowman in the middle using Tuxedo Black ink. Then on another 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Basic White card I stamped “To: From:”.
Next I coloured the snowman’s hat and scarf using light and dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends Alcohol markers. The only other colouring I needed to do was to add dark Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends to his carrot nose.
DETAILED TRIO PUNCH
With that done I was ready for the Detailed Trio Punch. First under the oval hole option I placed one of the white pieces in the centre. However before punching the hole I pulled the card out by 1/8″ (using my custom guide to help me). Then when I punched, the hole was at the edge of the card. I repeated the same process on the second piece of Basic White Card.
In the video below you’ll see how I set up my custom guide for the Detailed Trio Punch.
But I wasn’t finished with the Detailed Trio Punch just yet…
Using the corner rounder option I shaped the top left and bottom right corners of the two white layers. Now I was ready to put the tag together.
For the tag base I cut a 3″ x 3″ piece of Real Red Card and with the card right up against the punch guide, I punched an oval hole in the centre of one side. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the Basic White pieces to each side so all the holes lined up.
Next, using the brush tip of the dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends, I coloured some white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. After giving it a minute to dry I threaded the twine through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.

To finish I used a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush to ‘paint’ the snowman and the snow on the ground. With that my tag project was complete.
I love how this tag turned out and it really didn’t take much time at all. I hope it makes you smile as much as it does me.
PUNCH IT UP TUTORIAL BUNDLE
Of course I only used two of the three options on the Detailed Trio Punch on the gift tag. But I created two more coordinating projects for the November IDEAS Tutorial PDF.
Each tutorial features at least one card or 3D project and some tutorials (like mine) include multiple projects. The November “Punch It Up” tutorial bundle is a bumper 66 pages featuring 23 projects from 15 different designers. The collage below has a sneak peek of what’s inside.

Would you like a copy of the instructions for these projects for your own personal use, or even to use in your classes? There are three ways to get it.
- Place an order via my online store for $45CAD (before shipping and taxes) using my November Host Code VSVMNFJM . Make sure to allow Stampin’ Up! to share your contact details so I can e-mail the tutorial to you. If your order is over $200CAD don’t use the Host Code or you’ll miss out on Stampin’ Rewards. So long as I have access to your contact details I’ll still send the PDF.
- Join Stampin’ Up! and my Crafty Canadians team, and you’ll get IDEAS tutorials for free.
- Buy the tutorial. Contact me at tutorials@papercraftwithme.com for more information.
Once you’ve received the bundle, please remember not to share or distribute printed or electronic copies of the tutorials. We have worked hard to provide these exclusive projects for your own use. If you know someone who would like to purchase the tutorial bundle, please direct them to me to obtain their own copy. Thank you for your support.
So now please click the button below to join me at Dara Walter’s blog for the next leg of this hop.
Well that’s all from me for today. I hope you’ll join me tomorrow for a gorgeous card featuring the brand new Eden’s Garden Stamp Set and Eden Dies.
