Over the past week or so I’ve brought you projects using a limited range of colours. Today’s card project is another of these. This time I’ve taken my inspiration from the Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. The deep greeny-blue of Pretty Peacock pairs beautifully with the very pale green that is Soft Sea Foam. While it’s a simple layout, I decided to try something new with the arrangement of the layers. For my sentiment I pulled out another Online Exclusive product, the Growth Takes Time Stamp Set.

HELLO, IRRESISTIBLE BACKGROUND
As you might expect, I began my project with one of the more abstract patterns from the Hello, Irresistible DSP pack. The sheet I chose has a combination of Pretty Peacock and Soft Sea Foam in a sort of watercolour wash effect. I decided to pair this with Very Vanilla and pulled out a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
After cutting a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of the DSP I glued it to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then with my Paper Snips I trimmed off the excess paper, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Soft Sea Foam Card. With the long side at the top I scored the card at 4-1/4″, then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
From there I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card, along with a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the DSP. Using liquid glue I attached the DSP down the right-hand edge of the card layer, before fixing the assembled piece inside the card base.
Now I needed one final piece of the DSP and cut that at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. This was glued to the front of the card base to cover it completely.
SIMPLE LAYERS
All I had left to do was create the layers for the card front and I started with two 1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strips of Soft Sea Foam Card. After a little experimentation I decided to cut a 1-3/8″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Pretty Peacock Card. Then I glued the Soft Sea Foam strips on top leaving a 1/8″ gap between them and at the sides. With that done I attached the assembled layers down the centre of the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Turning to the Growth Takes Time Stamp Set I chose “be patient, your time will come”. Using Pretty Peacock ink I stamped the sentiment onto a 2-5/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. Then I cut a 2-3/4″ x 3″ piece of Pretty Peacock Card and glued the sentiment on top.
I wanted the sentiment layer to really stand out so on the back I stacked two Stampin’ Dimensionals in each corner. Then down the centre I put another couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals just one high. Finally I fixed the sentiment in the centre of the card front.
To finish I tied a simple bow from 8″ of Linen Thread. Then using a rolled Mini Glue Dot I attached the bow to the sentiment layer and my card was complete.
I love how the design of this card really draws the eye in to the sentiment. It’s a layout that would be perfect for any large sentiment you may have.
